ransomman 213

Ok, so I know this is essentially the same deck I keep posting over and over again but I'm just dedicated. What can I say? As soon as Stormcaller hit I knew I had to fit in Rod of the Steward, Vanish from Sight, and Glorfindel. You see, the biggest weaknesses of this deck have always been card draw and being unable to play Timely Aid by coming out of secrecy. So now:

Strengths:

  • Rod of the Steward: Now we have the Rod for more Card draw (Erestor and Legolas are also great for finding stuff you need). Of course you have to wait for the steward to be attached in order to apply this card but it's worth it.

  • A Very Good Tale: You can get out so many big Allies with out even trying it's ridic. You will likely see the end of your deck with A Very Good Tale and the Rod, assuming A Very Good Tale doesn't discard other copies of itself in the shuffle.

  • Timely Aid: Same as above really

  • Vanish from Sight: Keep your timely aids and Swift and Silents active (not to mention Sam's ability)

  • Celebrían's Stone: It's really nice to have Sam questing for 5 since you'll likely be sending him and Theodred every single turn.

  • Faramir: Needless to say, Ally Faramir is dope. You can get some really high WP with the swarm of Allies and Faramir.

Weaknesses:

  • The White Council: A Very Good Tale can be unforgiving with your attachments and events. This is where The White Council can help shuffle cards back in if you pull it, but you can include Tome of Atanatar and Second Breakfast if you want. I think The White Council is more appropriate for this deck in case you hard draw into a non-leadership Ally. Simply pitch the Ally with Erestor (or Glorfindel if you have him out) and put him back with White council.

  • Galadriel does not work with A Very Good Tale or Sneak attack.

  • You still may need to rely on Sneak Attack Gandalf for card draw early on... yes, I know, old school.

  • This deck has like all of the uniques ever. It's definitely a solo deck.

I should mention that you can also include like A Good Harvest and Will of the West to reset everything... if you're so inclined. I usually just live with whatever happens!

a 16 start threat deck without Resourceful?!? That's bold!
