Mavwick has a newer deck inspired by this one: Gondor Calls for Leadership! - ALeP Update

Gondor calls for aid!

Visionary Leadership and Steward of Gondor are the main cards to look for before a mulligan. Visionary Leadership helps Boromir double down on bonuses when he holds a resource. This card could be more important than Steward of Gondor when a quest really demands fast or high willpower. Two copies of Captain's Wisdom are there to help fill the Resource needs if Steward is not drawn early.

Gildor is a necessary hit to the theme. He brings card draw and high will. Place Steward of Gondor on him to benefit from Denethor’s ability and Visionary Leadership. Use his ability a lot to get set up faster.

A Gondor deck with faster setup thanks to higher Lore card draw is probably more consistent but I find myself greatly enjoying the benefits of all-Leadership Gondor. These include Tome of Atanatar shenanigans for multiple sneak attacks, A Very Good Tale or Strength of Arms uses. White Tower Watchman has an incredible ability and the Gondor keyword. Finally, Strength of Arms offers a massive turn and benefits any other players. Try to use Strength of Arms early to make up for A Very Good Tale uses.

Try not to fire A Very Good Tale until you have Visionary Leadership and Steward in hand. It is hard for this deck to function its best without those two on the table.

Citadel Custodians are very good at telling tales. Also, don’t forget about the timing window when Gandalf untaps and before he is discarded to use A Very Good Tale.

New cards have helped this deck a lot. Soldier of Gondor is amazing and Angbor the Fearless is a champ when you reach valor and he’s questing for 3 and attacking for 4. (Considering 2x Angbor.)

Ancestral Armor and Cram are kind of filler, but always useful. Switch them to We Are Not Idle or the sideboard as needed.Bring extra Crams against attachment hate or more armor on ally hate.

Have fun with this army of Gondor and their strong leaders!
