Edit from version 1: removed Mirkwood Long-knife which I was incorrectly putting in Glorfindel.

I've been enjoying the Bond of Friendship contact recently, but the high starting threat is always a bit of a problem. I wanted to try something different than just Hobbits to get around that and came up with this. Unsurprisingly I ended up using Glorfindel.

Frodo Baggins gives threat reduction and pairs well with Beravor allowing you to use her ability each round.

Beregond is the defender and gets Song of Wisdom, A Burning Brand, and Gondorian Shield and can then reliably trigger The Day's Rising every round assuming there's an enemy to engage.

Glorfindel does his usual thing with Light of Valinor.

The allies are the usual suspects, no surprises there. Just a decent spread to try and cover all the bases.

The extra songs go on Frodo Baggins since he's always questing and he gets Steward of Gondor to fuel his ability.

With 7 starting traits I thought The Free Peoples was a good 1-of for the deck and in my testing it's been a great card to power through to the end of the quest. In combination with Faramir I rage quested for 66 in my last quest to finish it off.

This seems like a really strong deck to me. I'd be interested in what you all think.

i would add 1-2 raiment of war, because beregond needs more def, he has probably to defend a troll 1. round ;) additional 1-2 hauberk ringsdb.com that is not restricted. fireside song with only 3 songs (days rising should go to beregond i asume) not much effective. would take a courage or miruvor. i would replace good harvest with open the armory. with my other suggestions, you have up to 6 armors. becaue you want to realise carddraw with beravor, consider to take drinkng song instead of deep knowledge, fasten your setup i asume.

Thanks for the feedback. I tested this deck against Journey along the Anduin and it beat it first try. The Hill Troll wasn't too much of a problem. Beregond can defend once at least, and when he's got his Gondorian Shield he has 6 defence, coupled with A Burning Brand and warden's of healing and he's basically indestructible. There's also plenty of allies that can be thrown under the bus early on.

I did wonder about the songs, they're definitely not the most effective but they do a job in boosting Frodo's willpower, maybe not to ridiculous levels but they're ok. Unexpected courage instead of fireside song and celebrian's stone instead of song of hope would work. I like a good harvest for it's resource smoothing. Open the armory wouldn't work without more armor/weapons in the deck which I don't feel the need to include. Drinking song is a good choice, I forgot that it only requires 1 Hobbit, since I've always used it in pure Hobbit decks!
