Yes, april is Sméagol favorite month :-)
All Resourceful are for (MotK) Ceorl.
Rivendell Minstrel can fetch Drinking Song (or Song of Travel if no partner deck has ).
Focus for Timely Aid, ideally get Radagast or Treebeard. Pay the other.
As soon as you have one of those guys in play, you can let Sméagol escape (Risk Some Light can help for a good Stinker timing). Discard Folco, send Ceorl away : now you can engage one ennemy each round and take undefended attacks. All you need to do is .
Yes, the first player will have to take care of Gollum. But he has only 2 and is immune to non-Gollum card effects, meaning no shadow card can boost him up (if first player is still not happy, defend him with one your sentinel) !
With his pile of resources, you can probably afford to take Ceorl back for one planning phase and pay for some more card.
Sideboard
Daeron's Runes are here in case someone is afraid of the threat of Deep Knowledge.
Tom Bombadil because nothing forbids you this have this card set aside. Every deck should have one.
What deck to play with ?
A deck that likes another hero and 4 extra resources per turn.

Apr 12, 2021Sméagol is an unique character indeed. |

Apr 16, 2021Great use of Ceorl! I'm defenitely stealing your idea for tomorrow's fellowship, if you don't mind. Song of Battle and The Hammer-stroke should defenitely be helpful, to help when engagments don't go as planned (and to have ceorl help play the eagles and other player's tactic cards) |
Apr 21, 2021I'm confused, what rule prevents this deck from losing the moment it no longer has any heroes? |
Apr 21, 2021Here's what kjeld commented on my Sméagol The Grey Wanderer deck when we were discussing this topic: Actually, it's not an auto-lose. According to the rules, "A player is eliminated from the game if all of his heroes are killed, if his threat level reaches 50, or if a card effect forces his elimination." Even though Sméagol is flipped when Stinker is revealed, and thus leaves play, he is not killed. The last errata document makes this clear in the Q&A section: "heroes are not considered to be killed unless they are in your discard pile" (p. 12). If you want to see the whole conversation read the comments on this deck: |
Apr 21, 2021A Self Preservation would also work to help your teammate keep Gollum locked down indefinitely. Just take it undefended every turn and heal up! |
Very nice! I love Sméagol month!
