this deck is inspired by the question, is there a good deck with (MotK) Beorn
"good" is a not well determined word, but i think, this is playable in multiplayer with a mate who concentrates on questing:
it is a straight foreward mono-tactic-deck with one speciality:
if beorn dies, he can be revived as ally with the Beorning Skin-changer. so i think this deck is very good to stand against hard early pressure, where the loss of a hero is not very uncommen and then carry on with reduced resssourses but fullfill the role nevertheless.
the usual (mono-)tactic-cheneanigans help:
- Book of Eldacar here not only for Feint and Thicket of Spears also good for Beorn's Rage and Hold Your Ground! (so, for all events ;)
- Beorning Skin-changer to revive Beorn or put in the Giant Bear cheap
- many weapons + Foe-hammer
- some res throug dying allies with Horn of Gondor
playing advice:
- put as many attachements on Grimbeorn the Old and Éowyn. if its foreseeable, that Beorn do not have to quit game, equip him too.
- you are the fighter of the fellowship. get all the enemys and try to avoid attacks with Feint and Thicket of Spears or boost with Beorn's Rage recycable with Book of Eldacar
- use Gandalf for emergency thread reduction or cards
- if you have to support questing, play Pippin and Meneldor
- play Legolas early if possible, cards are good
if playing with alep-cards, consider the sideboard.
overall its not the best fightingdeck, but a playable one that can take some hits with the heroes alone, and i think with an Beorning Skin-changer out, it is better than with hero Beorn
