this is my favoured pipe-deck.

the sideboard-Bilbo Baggins is only if the people want to play with stupid motk-rules.... ;)

it has many options from the start:

mulligan for a pipe, then you wil have 2 thx to (MotK) Bilbo Baggins what speed up everything

  • because of starting with a pipe (i choose Hobbit Pipe) and with 10 events to reduce thread, you will have carddraw and threadreducing from the start
  • with Smoke and Think you can play worth of 4 res in a single round, that allowes:
    • Sword-thain (makes Map of Earnil for free and additional hero who can wield a pipe) can give you 1. round 4. hero with Galion or Emery be aware, you canot play #shirefolk anymore, but it can be worth it
  • you start in secrecy so try to play Resourceful

other gameplay little advantages:

  • Sam Gamgee cost only 1
  • Thorongil can be used for everyone, if you ned fighting, choose merry, if readying (and more threadreduction), frodo, for cards bilbo
  • the spirit-threadreducing events can be recycled by Map of Earnil or Dwarven Tomb
  • with 3 Song of Eärendil you can manage thread for the whole table
  • can defend a single enemy with Frodo Baggins
  • in mid-lategame big daddy Gandalf can help, but do it only if the others at the table do not need the core-gandalf

for the saga replace Frodo Baggins with Pippin or Fatty Bolger
