doomguard 2121
i think this is the best Council of the Wise-deck i can imagine. with gandalf it is not hard to play 3 events a round, and then having constant, carddraw, threadreduction (by up to 3 per round) and a additional res per round is nice.
most allies cost 1-2 so they can be played within a round (after using contract for res)
frodo can ready gandalf, so quest by default for 5 and have gandalf and beregond ready, with a little luck getting +2 wp from allies 1. round results in questing for 7. this will constantly improve by an average ally per round.
play an event with gandalf from the top whenever possible to get all 3 benefits of the contract.
mulligan
try to have a few events in the startinghand, to keep the eventtrain rolling, nice cards to have are, the staff or the ring or treebeard.
the deck is a bag full of little benefits, al are nice but no one is mandatory:
- Bilbo Baggins for the Wizard Pipe
- Sam Gamgee for free
- Bill the Pony for free if Sam Gamgee is in play
- Galadhrim Weaver to shuffle a usefull event back
- Imladris Stargazer to get some events to the top if not there
- Envoy of Pelargir can only support beregond, but that is o.k.
- Treebeard can be playee within a round thx to contract
- Gaining Strength every round playable after using contract for res
- Word of Command to get a special card you want
take care, the lore-cards can only be played from the top with gandalf, or the allies with A Very Good Tale. 1 time the A Good Harvest helps out.
