Premise
Maybe the most fun hero released in the new Ered Mithrin expansion is Radagast, the Brown Wizard. He single-handedly opens up the Creature archetype along with his Staff, having two very useful abilities to gain action advantage and resource flexibility. As your other heroes I chose Sam Gamgee (who provides stats and the Hobbit trait for Drinking Song as well as a free Creature through Bill the Pony) and Arwen Undómiel, who is as solid as ever here (with her decent willpower and resource acceleration).
How To Play
I like to have a hand containing resource acceleration. Steward of Gondor and Radagast's Staff are therefore usually the cards I tend to target. Your high starting willpower also enables you to run multiple sidequests, utilizing their powerful effects as well as giving you access to the full power of Thalion. Aside from that, the deck is really easy to play - you draw (especially well through Elven-light and using Wizard Pipe in combination with Messenger Raven), gain resources through Steward/Staff and churn out your Creature allies as quickly as possible.
Considerations
If you want to have quite a different experience with the Creature trait, the sideboard enables you to have just that. Denethor can be subbed in for either Sam or Arwen and with also subbing in Envoy of Pelargir and A Very Good Tale accordingly, you gain access to an even faster swarm (even if you lose some willpower then and should probably cut down on your sidequest package as a result). Faramir and The Riddermark's Finest are two cards I like to include in higher player counts (going into the deck for solo-friendly options like Henamarth Riversong) since they can unlock their true potential in those settings.
Enjoy!!!

May 25, 2024Sounds fun! Glad you enjoyed it! |
Aug 24, 2024Do you think there is a way to get more Eagles into deck for solo or archetype whilst keeping at 4*? |
Aug 25, 2024Hmm there are not many eagles in RCO. And a non-RCO Eagle deck would look veeeery different indeed (it would always run a tactics ally for instance) ... |
Aug 25, 2024Interesting, if you think it changes the power potential of the deck, it you have a moment or you have one in archives (or someone else’s link if you like it) would be very interested in your thoughts on a non-RCO creatures deck for Solo (I don’t have the vengeance cycle but think have most others now) |

all with radagast and creature or eagle fokus (last one Eagles of the Misty Mountains save 1. round) |
Aug 31, 2024Thanks both. Looking forward to the continued build out of the deck box, as a community we appreciate the effort that goes into it! |
Just beat Across the Ettenmoors with this, nice deck! Thalion pulled his weight with a Wild Stallion and lots of encounter side quests to activate the readying. Being able to smash Trolls with a Giant Bear or three works wonders!
