May 29, 2024Thanks for sharing this info. Out of curiosity, how does an ability like Amarthiúl work? Does that trigger the Harbor Master? |
May 29, 2024I’m not sure but for me that works . Because Amarthiúl ability add resource —- and Harbor Master is triggered by add |
May 29, 2024Thorin Oakenshield should also work or Théodred |
May 30, 2024Amarthiúl works, same with Resourceful. |
May 30, 2024How does one delete a post ? |
May 30, 2024Neither Resourceful not Necklace of Girion works with Harbor Master in my opinion, as those cards are imo simply altering the framework effect of the number of resources you collect each round |
May 30, 2024i would say, "adding" is "adding" no matter if its a part of a frameworkeffect or not, the only role it has to fill is to come from playercards, and must be added. the only reason the frameworkeffect of collecting ressoursec, does not count is the fact that these res do not come from a playercardeffect. Squire of the Citadel btw is another one that should work |
Ok so…
Hi Matthew, Thanks for your email. The previous ruling regarding the Baggins-sphere Bilbo from The Hobbit saga expansion has not be reversed. To understand that ruling it is necessary to understand the difference between “adding,” “moving,” and “gaining” resources.
During the Resource phase, the rules say, “Each player simultaneously adds 1 resource token to hear of his heroes’ resource pools.” So “adding” means generating a resource where there was none before.
“Moving” a resource is taking a resource that is already in play and relocating it from one hero’s resource pool to another. No new resources are generated this way.
If the number of resources in a hero’s resource pool is increased as the result of “adding” a resource or “moving” a resource, that hero has “gained” a resource. So “gaining” a resource can result from both “adding” and “moving” resources.
Harbor Master’s effect only triggers “After a card effects adds any number of resources to the resource pool of a hero you control…” so “moving” resources with the Blue Mountain Trader’s effect would not trigger the Harbor Master’s ability.
I have made a note to add this clarification to our next FAQ update.
Cheers, Caleb
