This is a deeply silly deck I threw together in a bout of insomnia. It's meant to get The Fall of Gil-Galad onto Treebeard (thanks, Rivendell Minstrel!), then patiently draw/search until all 3 Resourcefuls are in hand. Then, the C-C-C-COMBO:
- During the refresh phase, use Loragorn to reset threat to 34.
- Have Treebeard commit suicide, dropping threat to 21.
- Trigger Galadriel during either the same or following round to drop to 20 and thus secrecy.
- Play ALL THE RESOURCEFULS.
- Profit.
I have only tested this once, pairing it with a Gandalf deck against one of the easiest possible quests, Encounter at Amon-din. But I pulled off the combo by round 3. (Mostly: I actually didn't have the resources to play all the Resourcefuls at once, but a simple Elrond's Counsel gave the needed extra secrecy time to get them all out). For funsies, later that game I Fortune or Fate'd Treebeard back up, attached a Fall of Gil-Galad from the other deck, and sacrificed him again.
Then I played ally Treebeard.
With all the extra resources I ended up generating, post-staging willpower adjustment with Longbeard Map-Maker was trivial (not to mention Nenya and hero Treebeard).
Nevertheless, I encourage you not to play this deck.
"Nevertheless, I encourage you not to play this deck."
The degenerate tinkerer in me finds a kindred spirit in all who would utter this phrase. :D
