This is the first deck I built in a series of decks called: Middle-Earth University. The decks are primarily meant to be played together as a fellowship, but with some tweaks they can be played solo or co-op.

This deck takes on the Role of Healer/Quester. Playing a role that emphasizes healing characters means you need to get the right cards down fast to fully take responsibility for your role, enter Erestor. This also means you want to heal as much damage in a turn as possible, hence Elrond. And you are not going to be fighting a lot of enemies, so low threat helps, and that is why we have Merry.

The execution of this deck is not very difficult. Draw a bunch of cards with Erestor, hopefully you can get a healer down early. Yoi should be able to get a healer down relatively early, whether is it Warden of Healing or Imladris Caregiver.

If you are lucky enough to get To the Sea, to the Sea! and Glorfindel in your opening hand, it is not a bad play to attach to the sea, discard 4 cards and play Glorfindel for 1, however that doesn't happen often.

The job of this deck is to help with questing and carry the weight of healing. Zigil Miner + Imladris Stargazer is in the deck in order to accelerate resources, to keep using Warden of Healing as many times as possible.

This deck does not particularly want to engage the enemies, but if need be A Burning Brand is in there for Elrond. He will also be the carrier of Light of Valinor.

If possible, I prefer to attach Athelas to a healer ally, rather than Elrond.

Lastly, I like to pass Unexpected Courage can be helpful to pass around to some of the other decks in this fellowship, especially if Éomer is rolling with some of his ideal attachments, which are listed in his deck.

If you enjoy a questing deck and have always wanted to play a healer type role, this is a good deck for that!

Be sure to check out the other decks in the fellowship.

Sideboard Note:

For quests with punishing travel effects, I recommend throwing in Thror's Map, it is a fantastic attachment.

The other allies, are there for the purpose of making it a little more of a combat capable deck, if you would want to try it in solo play.
