Premise
This is my take on a thematic Dúnedain deck, viable for all player counts. Dúnedain have one huge problem, especially if you want to create a thematic solo deck and that is questing. There are almost now good questers in their hero or ally pool, with the whole trait being built around combat more than almost any other trait int the game (with the exception of Beornings and Eagles). In solo, you therefore really need to see Sword that was Broken at some stage, the sooner the better, to ensure that Andúril inspires your Dúnedain to some decent willpower numbers. If you do quest unsuccessfully early on, Aragorn can still counter that threat increase to some extent at some point however, questing successfully becomes a necessity for almost every quest in the game. In multiplayer, other players can also cover questing to some extent with this deck becoming quite a bit stronger I think, being more free to focus on enemies and excelling at what it wants to do.
How To Play
In solo games, I often mulligan for Sword that was Broken and some resource acceleration to play it as soon as possible. In multiplayer, the focus on Sword is not as needed, here I often target cards like Armored Destrier or Heir of Valandil.
Considerations
Elrond, Fornost Bowman, Northern Tracker and The Long Defeat all gain a lot more utility in higher player counts and should be included there for sure. Desperate Alliance can also be absolutely key outside of solo, freeing excessive doomed usage up for the whole table.
Enjoy!!!
