DECK NAME - Blood and Bloody Ashes!

OVERVIEW - This is a frustrating quest to say the least! Most playthroughs are impossible to beat, but with the right luck in relation to hidden cards and shadow cards we might just prevail. This deck is very similar to the deck I used for NM Peril in Pelagir and is all about rushing the quest as we try to survive the orc onslaught.

HEROES

  • Beorn - he may battle quest in the final round but otherwise he is dedicated to attack and defense
  • Boromir - attach 1st Gondorian Shield and Spear of the Citadel; he will siege quest each round and is the MVP of the deck
  • Mablung - I debated including him or Beregond for better early siege questing but his response is key to getting cards out asap

STRATEGY

  • OPENING HAND - looking for Defender of Rammas, Winged Guardian, Gondorian Shield, Feint and The Wizards's Voice
  • ROUND ONE - hopefully we can siege quest for at least 6 ; during the encounter phase we will optionally engage Black Numenorean and hope that any/most revealed hidden cards are not enemies; in combat we will attack BN with Beorn/Boromir/Faramir/Alcaron and destroy him
  • STAGE 1 - once we get past Round 1 we will slowly try to deal with engaged enemies; we should advance to stage 2 after 3-5 rounds
  • STAGE 2 - travel to The Cross-Roads ASAP and race to the finish before threating out

CARD

  • ALLIES - the 1-cost allies mostly function as shields for the 2-cost allies against Orc Ambusher
  • Spear of the Citadel and Gondorian Spearman - the direct damage essentially cancels the attack of Orc Trickster by sending it back to being a hidden card; keep track of any Orc Tricksters that go back to being a hidden card
  • Not much more to say; just hope for the best; good news is if you die it'll be quick
