I was once told that my old and trusted Haldir deck (https://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/38114/mybesthaldirdeck-1.0) would benefit from using the Forth, The Three Hunters! contract and I decided to break my rule of not using cards I don't own and give such a deck a try. I think this has a potential to be a killer solo deck.
I'm not really comfortable with the card pool from the last cycle so maybe there are some perfect cards I missed.
It has 52 cards because of The One Ring and The Ruling Ring that you get for free during setup. The One Ring allows to fulfill the requirements of the contract faster as it is restricted.
You can generate a really impressive amount of very quickly.
As always in case of Haldir of Lórien decks - try not to engage enemies (Noiseless Movement is your friend, especially if you manage to drop your threat with Elrond's Counsel early).
If you do engage some tough enemy, either use Feint or The Ruling Ring that you start with to prevent this attack and use Éowyn's ability to get rid of the bad guy.
At later stages, if you manage to play Snowmane and Golden Shield on Éowyn, she'll ready after questing and she'll get a ridiculous boost from all the extra she gains from the contract and Strider or Windfola. She'll be able to defend one super-enemy if you need it.
Give it a try and tell me what you think. Maybe it performs better than my previous deck, maybe not, but I think it's super interesting! I'm sure this will be able to handle a LOT of quests.

Jul 29, 2025Strength and Courage for Haldir could be a nice include too. |
Jul 29, 2025See, I didn't even know Strength and Courage existed as a card, I totally missed it ;). It's really cool here, you could swap it for The Ruling Ring if you won't expect any low-engagement enemies in a scenario. Great suggestion. As for the restricted attachments - you don't really need that many, I've tested this deck many times now and it's not that it doesn't work without the contract swiched to the B side right away. I prefer to have useful events here and cards that glue together rather than buch of restricted ones just for the restricted sake ;). Try it in practice, it really works well! |
Jul 29, 2025Hey Warlock, this looks solid and fun, though a few parts may be tricky and it's hard to make suggestions without knowing what you do and don't have. I think the main thing I'd suggest is that you have only one option here for handling big boss attacks that you can't hide from, or other early enemies. To solve that I'd recommend going to three copies of Golden Shield and investing more in some form of readying for Eowyn, whether that's more Snowmane or more Unexpected Courage. |
Jul 30, 2025Golden Shield is exhausted after defense so there's no need to ready Eowyn anyway ;). Honestly this is almost a rush deck and it won't handle every scenario, but if you manage to avoid enemy engagements and attacks through low threat and events, it can work wonders ;). Try it! |
Jul 30, 2025Oh, my assumption was you'd be questing with Eowyn and would need to ready her after that in some manner in order to defend with her and Golden Shield. And as for trying it, I never play solo and I've got my own version of a Haldir 3H deck I run with when I want to supercharge him. :) ringsdb.com |
Usually one suggests to have at least 28 or 30 attachments with a huge density of Restreint to make the Three Hunters contract really efficient. Here I would reduce the number of events. They are thematic I admit, but the contract is the priority and Haldir-thematic too since we quickly need a great willpower to avoid unsuccesful questing and threat raising... 3 x Golden Belt seems important to consider in the deck too.
