first of all i love the concept, not at all the kind of last alliance i was expecting!

are the hobbit pipes really worth it? you only have The Shirefolk to trigger them, and Smoke and Think maxes out at 3. running some Smoke Rings could help better leverage them and help questing.

@pipes, in my experience, if you get half of them into play, it is good, and with 1-2 pipes per deck, it is worth it. for shirefolk (carddraw) and reducing costs (Smoke and Think the 0-cost attachements are target if you have to discard attachements (shadoweffect) and up to 2 of them i get for free with bilbo.

i considered Smoke Rings but they are to expensive for me, would rather play 1-2 allys for that (discounted or sam, dwalin) or pay a test of will. specially if i have shirefolk and merry for threadreducing.

what i missed and should be put in, is the Fast Hitch.

and Drinking Song while you're at it.

Elevenses maybe? it's only one resource, with a couple pipes out it's good card draw, and readying Merry for threat reduction (or Frodo Baggins to defend a small attack) when 2 can be spared will happen

if you go full pipes/thread reduction, other tasks will fall. i dont know, what is more effective.

what would you cut for elevenses and other cards?

i think you don't want elevenses in the frodo deck, since you play Smoke and Think in the merry deck you want your pipes on those heroes. With Fast Hitch and Drinking Song being , the frodo deck is fine as it is. So i'm only gonna talk about the merry deck.

bear in mind i have never played the dwarves archetype so i'm unfamiliar with how it feels to play it, which means some of those suggestions might be totally wrong.

you have 15 dwarves, you must have a minimum of 10 for the contract which means up to 5 can be cut. However you want 5 dwarves as fast as possible, so you want to keep a high number of dwarves if possible. But even going down to 10 dwarves you still have a 60 % chance of having 2 dwarves in your top 8 cards, not taking draw into account.

non-dwarves:

dwarves:

  • Erebor Hammersmith requires discarding an attachment, of which you have 11 (13/14 including Fast Hitch) which might not happen immediatly (depending how much you discard from the top)

  • Ered Nimrais Prospector, you are not heavy enough on the discard from the top mechanic to warrant a card that does it without any profit (it only synergies with Hidden Cache and Ered Luin Miner so that's a 30% chance of hitting one which is just ok in terms of value, and 3% chance of hitting 2 or more which is practically never)

cards that could be moved to the frodo deck:

cards that can be cut from the frodo deck:
