Mulligan for cards like Gandalf, Resourceful, Treebeard, Silvan Refugee and Celduin Traveler.

For the setup ability of the Contract pick Nenya and attach it to Galadriel. If Nenya is in your starting hand, pick the Mirror of Galadriel instead.

A typical round goes like this:

  1. Exhaust Galadriel at the beginning of the planning phase, draw one card and reduce your threat by one. Use Galadriel's mirror to fetch another card and negate its random discard effect with the Silver Harp attached to her.
  2. Then exhaust The Grey Wanderer and raise your threat by one to ready Galadriel and give her two resources. If she is damaged from previous undefended attacks, direct damage or archery damage, maybe use the healing option instead. If Unexpected Courage is attached to her, you can ready her and still use the healing and resource generating option of the Contract each round.
  3. Play allies (or put them into play with Timely Aid or A Very Good Tale) who don't exhaust to quest the round they enter play. Your primary target is Gandalf. Attach Gandalf's Staff, Wizard Pipe and Shadowfax to him to use him as your Swiss army knife.
  4. After the staging step: Exhaust Galadriel and Nenya to add her 4 to a questing ally until the end of the phase (6 with a Silver Circlet attached to her). Cards like 'Necromancer's Reach' won't harm your hero and non-exhausted questing ally/-ies this way.
  5. In the combat phase Gandalf, Treebeard and Giant Bear serve as defenders and attackers. Vassal of the Windlord, Glorfindel and Quickbeam support them. If needed, Silvan Refugees and Vassals can be used as chump blockers, too.

Remember that Timely Aid, A Very Good Tale, Giant Bear and Vassal of the Windlord can only be played as your first non-unique card each planning phase!

Galadriel solo decks are awesome! If you have the ability to throw in The One Ring and Well Preserved, you can start with an additional hit point for undefended attacks and healing outside of the contract. Plus, Ring of Barahir adds even more hitpoints.

@Jtothemac Hey! That's a great idea and if nobody else at the table plays The One Ring, it's a perfect supplement for this deck!

Why not include Ithilien Lookout rather than Vassal of the Windlord? I would also consider Jubayr and Firyal as Timely Aid targets.

Galadriel is awesome as a Grey Wanderer. With Nenya from the start, all Lore-cards are actually in-sphere. And her innate threat-reduction negates the contract's drawback.

The Gandalf-package in your deck is interesting. Although I'm not sold on some of your other card-choices.

  • Heed the Dream can't be used to its full potential (unless in multi-player). There are some more straightforward card-draw / filtering options available, like Daeron's Runes or Drinking Song.

  • I agree with NERD that Firyal (especially in solo) and Jubayr are top-notch targets for Timely Aid. Another one would be Gildor Inglorion (with extra-synergy).

  • For secrecy-allies, I would also prefer Ithilien Lookout (in addition to or instead of Celduin Traveler).

  • I would recommend some location control, like Northern Tracker and/or Rhovanion Outrider. They bring some combat-stats to the table, too, and can do both on the turn they enter play.

@NERD, @Taurelin Hey guys, thanks for your comments! Let's work this out:

  • I usually play two-handed or multiplayer, seldom true solo. That would maybe explain, why Firyal didn't came to my mind in the first place, wheras Heed the Dream did :). Word of Command was my first thought, since I want Gandalf in my starting hand anyway, but then felt, that Heed the Dream could help finding crucial cards (better than Daeron's Runes) and Word of Command doesn't help, if Gandalf won't show up.
  • I totally forgot Ithilien Lookout and he's a great recommendation! Only problem I see is, I want a real cheap emergency-attacker/chumpblocker which both are (Ithilien Lookout and Vassal of the Windlord) as long as I am in secrecy. But if Gandalf stays in play, threat goes up pretty fast and only the Vassal stays a one-cost option. But it won't hurt to take one copy out and put Gildor Inglorion in for example, as you recommended.
  • I absolutely love Northern Tracker and Jubayr and put them in many of my decks including and therefore wanted to try something else here. But I guess, Galadriel's Handmaidens (or a copy of Silvan Refugee and Celduin Traveler each) could easily be replaced with a copy of Northern Tracker and Jubayr each (or two Trackers instead for better location control) - depends on the quest you play ;)
  • Gandalf lacks one more attachment, which could be added for fun: Narya! He readies himself and another ally in the combat phase and then can defend or attack with 5 / .
