Zarathustra 17

This is a multiplayer deck, it's focused on combat and keeping as many enemies engaged as possible.

General considerations:

1) This is a deck that focuses heavily on allies: Gimli, Treebeard, Gandalf and all the dunedain allies in the list. To set up a good board within a couple of turns you will have to rely on Amarthiúl's ability to get a icon and gain an extra resource if engaged with enemies (for this purpose the Dúnedain Hunter can come in handy in the first/second turn in case not enough enemies come out) and to the magnificent A Very Good Tale event which will allow you to swarm allies by tapping two of them (ideal to use Gandalf + Ranger of Cardolan during the refresh phase).

2) This is a multiplayer deck. This means that you can afford some gaps (threat reduction and draw cards) that you will leave to your fellow adventurers. Foe-hammer still remains as a draw option, and Gandalf can come in handy to reduce your threat.

3) This is a dunedain deck, so it would be ideal to try to keep a few enemies engaged in order to exploit the bonuses of Amarthiúl, Guardian of Arnor and Fornost Bowman. However, this implies taking damage and for this purpose, as well as relying on your fellows, Honour Guard will do a good job of avoiding (sometimes fatal) damage assignments. The inexpensive Defender of Rammas with its 4 defence points will help keep a few small goblins, who can trigger dunedain bounuses, at bay.

Heroes considerations:

1) Faramir allows you to untap an ally when you engage an enemy and this works well both before the engagement phase and when you have knocked down an enemy and thanks to Aragorn you engage another enemy from the staging area or from another player's area . Faramir also allows you to use Treebeard on the turn it comes into play, untapping it during the engagement phase.

2) Amarthiúl it will be your main defender. To do this the ideal opening would be to play Steward of Gondor on Amarthiúl and consequently also give him the Gondorian Shield to bring his defense back to 5. Later being able to assign him Armored Destrier, Steed of the North will be excellent options. Getting help from some other player with Unexpected Courage is highly recommended. In addition to being the first defender, thanks to the achievement of both / icons with the Steward of Gondor it will help you play the cards better (which, as you will see from the statistics, are greater than the ones).

3) Aragorn will not only do his duty as an attacker but also help your comrades, who will suffer in combat, by removing enemies from their boards or the staging area. It may be useful to assign him Steed of the North so that he can also be untapped when using his ability. Dagger of Westernesse will help neutralise enemies better.
