Introduction

This is a deck that utilizes cards from the Black Riders Saga expansion along with the newly released Mount Gundabad AP. This pack came with a lot of goodies for a Hobbit deck, and they all breathe some new life into this classic deck!

General Play and Strategy

This is not a Rosie deck. Her main goal is in a support function here, and she is still amazing. Peace, and Thought, Daeron's Runes, and the newly released Drinking Song give us tons of card draw along with Pippin's own hero ability. Draw a ton of cards, put down a bunch of powerful allies/attachments on your heroes, and win the game! For Sam, you are looking for two Fast Hitch, Hobbit Cloak, Sting, Friend of Friends, and Staff of Lebethron. Merry's final form is two Dagger of Westernesse and the other Friend of Friends. Pippin should just have a Song of Hope. I would put two Resourceful on Pippin, and one on Sam. This ensures you can play down Gaffer Gamgee every turn and still have one resource to use for something else. Raise the Shire is there to pull out Gaffer from your deck or Farmer Maggot. The deck also has some tech to keep enemies having a higher engagement cost in the form of Halbarad. Threat reduction is there in the form of The Shirefolk and Sneak Attack/Gandalf.

The side-board is there if you feel like playing a more side-questy version of the deck.

Opening Hand

You are looking for Resourceful and card draw in your opening hand. If you don't have Resourceful or some threat reduction to keep you in secrecy, mulligan for it. The biggest trick this deck can pull is constantly locking down an enemy with the Gaffer. Having a Resourceful on Pippin ensures you can pull this trick off EVERY TURN. Other good things to see in your opening hand are Fast Hitch and Hobbit Cloak to start powering up Sam. Raise the Shire is nice to dig out your Hobbit allies.

Conclusion

I am so excited to put this deck on the table. While I haven't run it against any scenarios yet, I have a good feeling that it will trounce many quests, and be a lot of fun in the process! I hope you enjoy this deck!
