I really enjoy the flexibility that the Gimleg heroes give you. It's nice to have a deck that can get through a tough opening hand. Since they can convert a card and resource into action advantage, its like playing turning any card in your had into a 0 cost 2 willpower ally that leaves at the end of the round. Then you have the option to attack for 4 at the cost 1 resource.

Theodred makes a great third wheel, as he will give an extra leadership or spirit resource (whichever you need) and contributes low threat. I find that I don't need him, but he makes the deck very consistent. I will swap him out for a spirit or leadership dwarf hero for some quests, but really any spirit hero you prefer works well. The resource engine for this deck, miner/cache/friendship can already provide plenty of smoothing.

When I play this deck I'm looking for Imladris Stargazer and King Under the Mountain in my opening hand. Just to start digging for the resource engine.

Bilbo Baggins and Dwarf Pipe are the Will of the West replacement for this deck. Not only is it fun, but its nice to be able to zigil miner away something they you want later, or to throw those caches back in. You can thin your deck pretty rapidly.

Once everything is set up, you can use stargazer to set up the next five cards as you see fit, you can pick which one you are going to draw with King Under the Mountain and then which 3 you wish to discard, and then which card you want to draw next turn. With a couple of pipes, you are putting 1-2 of those under your deck. Basically, you will get so see almost every card, but you should not run out of cards.

If you decide not to use Gandalf, you will want a threat reducer like The Galadhrim's Greeting and probably another card draw option like Elven-light or Ancient Mathom. Elven light is really amazing with Legolas, but I like to keep it in whatever deck I'm using Arwen Undómiel in.

I want to make space for The Favor of the Lady just for the fun of using it on Gimli, but I haven't tested it yet.

I'm going to suggest you find a way to sneak Elf-friend in there so you can play it on Gimli, then trigger both Durin's Song and Fair and Perilous. Just because it's hilarious.

LOL. Ok . . . well that's going in this deck if I play it with you, so if I haven't played a card in a few turns, you will know its for the jank combo.

Did you see Chads deck that used Ring of Thrór to cycle Miruvor?

Oh yeah! You do that on your podcast lol. That must have influenced me. I was going to go with a glittering caves reference, but didn't think of one that sounded funny to me.
