RedSpiderr 1809

RedSpiderr has a newer deck inspired by this one: Saga Deck 18.2: I will not say the Day is done

I used this deck for the seventeenth quest of my Saga Campaign. I am going to try and keep it as thematic as possible, stemming from the 'What If?' of 'What if Gandalf didn't escape from Orthanc in The Fellowship of the Ring?' Please note, I don't own all the cards, so am not able to make the most powerful thematic deck theoretically possible, but constrained by what I have, here is my best attempt.

The Dark Lord has gathered his forces and has launched his assault on the West. To the north, Easterlings and Wainriders out of Khand raid and pillage Rhovanion, making their way up to Dale and the Lonely Mountain. Out of Dol Goldur issues out a host bent on sacking The Golden Wood, vomiting forth monsters and maladies to lay waste to Lothlórien. But the White City of Gondor shall bear the hardest hammer strike. For armies and hosts have come from The Black Gate, from Minas Morgul and from Harad, and a fleet of Black Corsair Ships sail north up the Anduin all to take first Osgiliath and the Rammas, before besieging Minas Tirith itself. The storm clouds gather and night falls, will Middle-earth see the dawn?

As this quest allows you to put into play two allies for free, we have decided to double down on that effect. Therefore we have put in three copies of Elf-stone, which we ought to be able to draw fairly soon with Beravor and Gléowine. There are a load of unique allies in the deck that would be excellent targets for Elf-stone, such as Glorfindel, Háma and Elfhelm. Of course these effects will only get us so far, so we need to take efforts to ensure our resource generation and smoothing. The Storm Comes makes sure anyone’s resources can be used for allies, regardless of sphere. Prince Imrahil ensures that even if a hero falls he can step up and continue to generate resources in their stead. And once enough side-quests are completed Thalion will start his resource generation, increasing the number of allies we can play each turn.

As for our willpower and questing capabilities, Rally the West makes sure our heroes can contribute as much as possible, the completion of which, aided by East Road Rangerbwill also increase Thurindir’s willpower. After a side quest is finished, Rider of Rohan](/card/17060) can also throw its stats into questing and combat. Idraen should be thrown into questing every turn, with the hope that the active location is explored and she can ready for combat. Map of Rhovanions and Northern Trackers should help with this. Ghân-buri-Ghân and

This deck represents the Vanguard and support elements of the forces of Men. The characters of this force have spent years honing their skills scouting and engaging the forward elements of the armies of the Enemy. Without the contributions of these men and women, the bulk of the armies of Rohan and Gondor would find themselves blind and deaf to their opponents movements, and without the staying power to see the task done.
