I wanted to build a deck staring Emyn Arnen Ranger and Followed, which work together really well. Followed requires keeping enemies engaged, which has great synergy with the dunedain/traps archetype. Faramir is here as a decent attacker with a lot of hit points, which can be useful, and to avoid interfering with other decks. In solo, Aragorn is probably the better choice.

The deck has fantastic card draw thanks to Damrod, Sarn Ford Sentry, and especially Master of the Forge. An ideal starting hand will have an Heir of Valandil and some traps or Master of the Forge. The goal by mid-game is to get a few enemies engaged with you trapped with either Forest Snare or Entangling Nets while Amarthiúl is set up as a defender, then play Followed and Dúnedain Hunter or Wait no Longer to find a high threat enemy and keep it engaged.

If you can find an enemy with a threat of 3 that you can reliably defend (or forest snare), then Followed subtracts 3 threat from the staging area while Emyn Arnen Ranger quests for 3 each. I've had games where Followed reduced the threat in the staging area to 0 while I was questing for 12 with only a few characters.

The main difficulty this deck has is in the first few rounds - until some enemies are engaged, allies can be expensive to put down and until you have something decent trapped for Emyn Arnen Ranger your willpower is somewhat low. Don't be afraid to play Sneak Attack and Gandalf early to quest or defend - you won't need him later. Once you get two enemies engaged, things really take off.

I initially wanted to use Shadow of the Past to greater effect - putting a high threat enemy I just killed on top of the deck, playing Followed and then Dúnedain Hunter to engage and trap it immediately - but I found in practice this almost never worked well. I still keep one copy of Shadow of the Past just in case it someday comes together. This deck could also use Coney in a Trap in place of Feint, but I find my lore resources are more in demand.
