Rumours say that in an early version of the Lord of the Rings, Tolkien wrote the following for the second chapter of Book Two of The Fellowship of the Ring, "The Council of Elrond":
"- For Eru's sake, have you lost your wits? We are not giving the One Ring to a Halfling! Just give me the freaking ring, I'll do the job myself - and with this words, Elrond took the ring and parted towards Mordor, leaving everybody astonished."
This deck uses this now lost piece of text as inspiration.
The Fellowship contract is a proxy for The Grey Wanderer contract.
Use the ability in The Grey Wanderer side A to put into play Strider. Elrond starts questing for 5 without exhausting.
The One Ring allows you to pick up the card Inner Strength, which once you play it will allow you to defend for 4 and remove a nasty shadow card. When you pair this with Ancestral Armor you are good to defend anything. Moreover, your deck is now only 47 cards, which increases the chances to draw Vilya in your starting hand.
This is an Elrond / Vilya deck, so Mulligan for Vilya and start using it from turn 1. Other cards that are good to find in your starting hand are Resourceful and Timely Aid.
Thanks to The Grey Wanderer side B effect, you can use Vilya ready Elrond and add 2 resources on him.
Vilya, Timely Aid, together with the extra resources coming from The Grey Wanderer and Resourceful will allow you to spam fat allies at a crazy rate. I included some Elf-stones mainly for solo for extra abuse.
Elrond's Counsel will allow you to stay in secrecy a few more turns for those Resourceful and Timely Aid cards.
Multiplayer
If there is conflict (there will be conflict) with uniques, just swap any ally for other fat non-unique allies (Eagles of the Misty Mountains, Ranger of Cardolan, Northern Trackers...), there is no ally that is fundamental for this deck.
You can either keep the Elf-Stones (they can be useful to anybody) or you can swap them for more allies, it never hurts :)
Sideboard
One lonely A Burning Brand for those few scenarios that you need more shadow cancelling than that already provided by Inner Strength.
"As Elrond left, Boromir looked sullen. He had hoped to have the ring for his Make Gondor Great Again strategy".
