This is my attempt to run a mono-leadership outlands deck, utilizing the Messenger of the King contract on (MotK) Forlong for maximum readying, and to get a reasonable lineup for Lord of Morthond to work.

The premise is pretty straightforward: your heroes are pretty weak until you get the army of outlands out. Steward goes on Hirluin to pay for the off-sphere allies. included a couple of gondor allies to receive Sword of Morthond for the boosts.

If there are any glaring weaknesses or additions to juice this up, please comment below.

ithink anborn is not worth it in a outlandsdeck. and its vry random put the sword of morthon at the right place. there are many ways to boost faster:

would discard 1 anborn 2 sword of morthond 2 prince of dol amroth

would add: 1-3 cram 1 tome 1-3 warnings of the dunedain

in multiplayer 3 campfiretales

or, add the one ring and 4 ring-things

Just trying to get more allies into the deck -- leadership Gondor made sense (though I was considering White Tower Watchman), and Anborn and Faramir jumped to the top. It would also be a little helpful to have a little bit of insurance against the contract setup timing.

The DĂșnedain Warnings might be a helpful add, I will have to play test to see what kind of help I will be needing.

I also consider using A Very Good Tale to help accelerate some allies that way. In that regard, anborn would be helpful. Alas, I did not publish this with that event.

I'd replace Anborn with Angbor the Fearless. Once you hit 40 threat, if he has Sword of Morthond, he'll be a beast. Alternatively, if cost and theme aren't of the utmost importance, Gimli could work in Angbor's place.

Ally Erestor would also be great for switching extra unique cards for card draw.

I agree with @Blithe Schlemihl that Angbor the Fearless is a solid pick in lieu of Anborn, and very thematic with that! Sadly Prince Imrahil never held a good synergy with Outlands even when the Prince of Dol Amroth attachment was released. I wonder if his daughter might be worth considering, especially with a few Soldier of Gondor for extra card draw (as if it needed it...) and the Knight of Belfalas if only for stats. Also gives access to the most broken card in the game which can be nice early on when your Anfalas Herdsman are not out and your allies are still a bit fiddly.

You could also try experimenting with Mariner's Compass on Forlong since he'll be ready at each phase and the compass ensures you'll get more out of his ability as Travel is a phase if I'm not mistaken. He quest, location manipulation, encounter ready, and combat ready! get some use out of him!

You might consider going up to x3 on Lord of Morthond & even mulliganing for it, to help with card draw.
