UPDATE:
With Thorongil, Bilbo can get the Lore Resource + the additional card draw with Lore Bilbo
Thus, the idea is to get Thorongil early in the game.
I also included the Book of Westmarch that can go on Bilbo for an additional resource each turn if questing succesfully.
Finally, as we have plenty of hobbits, I have included Elevenses to increase the threat reduction (and use Gandalf for card draw or killing ennemies)
With the upcoming new contract - Messenger of the King - I wanted to try a different Hobbit line up including Spirit Bilbo Baggins to be able to use as much Hobbits as possible.
The Grandpas
Grandpa Bilbo helps at setup to have the new pipe, which will go on Grandpa Cotton, usually on turn 1 to add 1 hit point and help finding an event. Bilbo gets stuffed with money and wisdom (makes sense no?) in order to be able to play each turn Grandpa Gamgee.
Grandpa Cotton helps playing out of sphere Hobbits and having a very welcomed attack boost for instance for jumping Hobbits. The Ring, the new Spare Pipe, the Boots and Inner strength go on him. Fully equipped - plus with Bill and Rosie around - Grandpa Cotton is a pretty strong tank with 6 SHIELD and 6 Hit points and can cancel shadow effects.
Grandpa Gamgee is here to manage defense. No need for more explanations. He can be played thanks to Grandpa Cotton or with the Song of Wisdom
Grandpa Proudfoot is a nice add-on to draw more Hobbits. If played with Raise the Shire or Sneak Attack his ability can be used several times.
Other cards
I really love two cards:
1) Raise the Shire to find faster Grandpa Gamgee, Rosie, Pippin or Merry or just to enjoy several times the effects of other Hobbits when they enter play, such as Farmer Maggot or Odo Proudfoot.
2) Drinking Song to of course draw new cards but also to put back into the deck Hobbits that can then enter back into play through Raise the Shire.
I think the rest of the cards are quite self explanatory and are natural inclusions in Hobbit decks.
