DECK NAME - A Wizard Runs through It
OVERVIEW - 1) Use Eomer to eliminate enemies in the staging area. 2) Sneak Attack / Gandalf like crazy. 3) Boost your to crazy levels in late game
HEROES
- ARAGORN - attach Celebrían's Stone and Sword that was Broken, quest each round and ready using effect
- DENETHOR - attach 2x Dúnedain Warning and Ancestral Armor when you can (might take a while to build up needed board state and resources)
- EOMER - attach 3x Dúnedain Mark, Steward of Gondor, and Gúthwinë; use his ability to destroy enemies in the staging area; NOTE: one Dúnedain Mark gets him up to 4; combine with Aragorn early to kill enemies engaged with you
STRATEGY
- GANDALF - can bring into play using 3x Sneak Attack; use 3x Tome of Atanatar to recycle Sneak Attacks; be strategic with use; perfect for one-shotting Warrior of Rhun or drawing cards early; threat reduction a few rounds in
- EOMER - With enemies often being added to the staging area at the end of the round, Eomer is perfect for eliminating them before they can touch you. Buffing him to 7 attack asap is important to one-shot every enemy but the Easterling Captain.
- LOCATION LOCK - can happen early; use Gandalf for questing early game to avoid threat increase; if you can make it past possible location issues in early game, you'll steam roll over the issue after a few rounds
- SET UP / FIRST ROUND - choose Eastering Outrider for enemy during setup; use Eomer's ability during questing to kill; can't travel to River Running if no enemy in staging area so it might get a little clogged if locations are pulled first few rounds
- OPENING HAND - look for Sneak Attack, Gandalf, Steward of Gondor and low cost 2-willpower allies
CARDS
- Galadriel - grab those attachments!
- Squire of the Citadel - hold back for chump blocking when needed; resource refund is awesome reason to sacrifice this eager young lad
- Steward of Orthanc - good for and occasional card draw
- Elfhelm - use Eomer's resources to drop him into play during pivotal combat phases; Guthwine can bring him back from the discard pile
- Faramir and Sword that was Broken - boost willpower to crazy levels
- Valiant Sacrifice - use when Gandalf or Elfhelm leaves play. NOTE: You cannot play cards at "the end of the round" when Gandalf and Galadriel leaves play.
- Dúnedain Remedy - necessary to keep heroes healed
