Discard Pile

Overview: Experimental Bond of Friendship Noldor themed deck initially meant to boost Watcher of the Bruinen but that card was terrible given Guardian of Rivendell. I decided to load up on discard effects from all four spheres and let Erestor go nuts. Elrond would be better but I saw about a half dozen decks already so let's try this.

Piloting: You are deep in Hill Troll territory and you probably won't leave. Elrohir can take one for the team early but chump and some defensive tech is needed right after. Break out allies and fuel discard effects. Cycle your deck often with Will of the West x 2, a few Dwarven Tombs and a couple White Councils. If all goes well, you'll have some allies in play and your heroes can boost with occasional readying and minor buffs. This is a meat and potatoes deck.

Recursion: Dwarven Tomb and Will of the West. The White Council can also sneak something back into the deck from discard.

Threat reduction: Gandalf, Elrond's Counsel, Keen as Lances. The neutral cards are pricy but being neutral, someone might have some resources lying around.

Healing/Damage Reduction: Imladris Caregiver and that's it. Boooo.

Discard Tricks: Glorfindel, Mithlon Sea-Watcher, Lindon Navigator, Wandering Exile, Warden of the Havens, Trollshaw Scout and Protector of Lorien all play with discarding to keep allies in play or adding bonuses. Lords of the Eldar also fits this category.

Scrying: Master of the Forge but honestly you should have what you need from Erestor cycling through things. Open the Armory is in the sideboard.

Resource Acceleration/Cost Management: Not much. Arwen can throw a resource to anyone. To the Sea! is in the sideboard but there aren't many clutch players that need in play. Most allies are 2, an occasional 3 but everything else is neutrals. That's (hopefully) enough.

Cancellation: None. Side board based on quest or if other things break. Revealed in Wrath is in there because I never get to use it.

Defense: Guardian of Rivendell, Warden of the Havens, Elrohir. Elven Mail, Dunedain Warnings, Raiment of War, Shining Shield should do alright.

Attack: Glorfindel, Mithlond's, Trollshaw, Guardian of Rivendell, Elladan, Dunedain Marks, Valiant Sword.

Questing: Arwen and Erestor bat for 5 WP. Most allies are 2 and below with a few outliers. I prefer more questing power out of the gate but we'll see if this works. You could pull one of the brothers or draw into Protector of Lorien.

Asfaloth should probably be in here somewhere as well. Not sure what Lore card would get kicked out. Probably one of the green allies but the deck needs Willpower.

either you an easily reduce recycle,or u need more carddraw. i would recomand the last. so more draw including. (Daeron's Runes Elven-light perhaps Deep Knowledge

then the discard-noldor-card overall is missing: To the Sea, to the Sea! its autoinclude in erestor-noldor. mulligan for it. to make room or that 2 cards i would discard 1 Will of the West (1 + 2 Dwarven Tomb are enough) and 2 Sailor of Lune

would discard all the events that need a special circumstance. you will never know i you have them if you need them, so discard:

in Bond of Friendship -decks, Treebeard is autoinclude by me, but it perhaps do not it your theme.

if there are free places left, fill with:

consider Captain's Wisdom you have 3 heroes who can use it, you can play Wandering Exile or Veteran Sword-elf within 1 round,

playing solo i would defenetly include Light of Valinor for one of the brothers (discard 2. Dwarven Tomb for it)

Thank you for your suggestions! I will try out the deck and with it, most of your suggestions in the next few days.

I went a little different than I usually would - I wanted to push the discard mechanic hard and purposely left the card draw out. I'm assuming card draw is better because recursion is more rare but I wanted to at least try it.

As for a lot of weapons, the main aim was to arm heroes and a few allies if possible. Veteran Sword Elf felt weak with 2 and Rivendell Scout at 2 resources with poor stats seemed weak as well.

But yes, if I shift to card draw that changes the feel of the deck considerably - which may very well be a different deck than this one.

And I love Treebeard - just trying not to use him here.

Again, thank you kindly!

the Veteran Sword-elf is not so bad if the 2. is in the discard (2/2 then)

imo to discard cards you first have to get them if you do not mine. so drawing first seems needed. and the 4 per round with erestor alone let rarely draw your whole deck in a game and makes Will of the West less usefull
