i try to make a deck, that is better or at least equal to the same deck with a 3. hero.
overall thoughts: it should be a deck, where the benefit (+1 attr and additional readying) shines extraordinaire. that means heroes that have allready high attributes and perhaps some that benefit in special way from readying. in best case these heroes have high hp because of the cost of the readying.
2 heroes come to my mind, that have that. in this case an additional boon is, that sporfindel generates low startingthread, so the +8 is not so hard. Gwaihir is the other heor, because he benefits in special way fron the exrtra-readying, because he will not refresh in the refreshphase, and you can perhaps squeeze our another additional readying so he can do 3-4 actions in the first round and after. the additional actions will only be worth it if they come with high attributes usually in fighting because questing is only once a round.
so, what can this deck do:
- it is more a fightingdeck, but has decent willpower, specially if you draw Strider (mulligan for it) so you start with 7 wp that is o.k.even in solo
- try to get as much actions as possible, try to gat an 1-cost eagle out + either Golden Crown or Miruvor (if not paying for #strider)
- in the combatphase, you might have 3(+) actions with Gwaihir 1 default if Strider is out 2 by contract (wound on glorfindel) 3. by Flight of the Eagles or Hidden Roosts using on the cost-1 eagle
this way you have up to 3 sentinel-defenses with 4 or up to the not taken defenses attack with str5 ranged. if you play solo you perhaps ready Glorfindel and attack at home for 9
then depending on what is needed more pay for willpower (spiritallies) or fighting (cheap eagles). Arwen increases defense of gwahir, Light of Valinor gives Glorfindel another action.
reaching flipping the contract you can even get rid of locations with Meneldor or play Landroval (perhaps within a fellowship, that contains Beorn ) as save ressurection.
consider sideboard, e.g. Eagles of the Misty Mountains but need either mate with Elf-stone or similar or is usable after flipping.
finishing notes:
is this really better than a deck, that starts with e.g. Arwen Undómiel as third hero?
i would say it has better fightingabilities in the first rounds because of the additional readying. from 4th round on, its better because of the benefits of flipping. if you need high willpower early on then it might be better with a 3. hero but if you start with enemies or have fighting to do from the start, or quest battle, then it seems to me, it is better with this contract. appriciate your opinions.
happy questing
