Premise

First of all, thanks to the ingenious SomeSort for pointing this specific combo out to me! Check SomeSort's catalogue of decks out anyways, they are full of great ideas and well-built! The idea here is pretty straight-forward, Rosie Cotton is your Messenger of the King who plays Power of Command onto Frodo Baggins. You mulligan for Nenya, using Galadriel's resource to it. You then quest with Rosie and Frodo, trigger Power of Command, ready Rosie with Frodo's resource, use Galadriel's ability on Rosie and finally use Rosie's ability either on herself or Frodo. VoilĂ , 19 willpower round 1 with only needing to see a single card. From there on, you just play some allies, boost Galadriel's/Rosie's willpower further and thus continue to build your questing prowess.

How To Play

Mulligan for Nenya. Then, you start playing down your deck to gain as much willpower as possible. Mirror of Galadriel is your failsafe if you don't see Nenya early on, later on it isn't as important.

Considerations

Rivendell Scout is a nice source of cheap stats that can always come in helpful, Steward of Gondor is not needed here but might be very good across the table if nobody else runs it. Fast Hitch is useful to have some more Rosie action in the combat phase (given there are suitable targets of course). Campfire Tales and Man the Walls are always great for higher player counts.

Enjoy!!!

Maybe I'm missing something, or doing it wrong, but I'm counting count 20 WP.

  1. Frodo starts at 2, +1 from Power of Command.
  2. We activate Power of Command, Frodo has now 4 WP, Rosie Cotton has 3, and Galadriel has 5 (as Power of Command buffs all characters, not just the commited ones)
  3. We use Nenya on Rosie, now she has 8 WP. She adds those 8 to Frodo, who has now 12 WP. 12 + 8 = 20. And as you say they can be easily more with Rivendell Scout. I'm in love with this deck.

Very funny and interesting combo. So good for multiplayer dedicated quester.

When you use the response on Power of Command, it doesn't increase Frodo's WP, only each other unique character.

I'm stupid. Lol. Sure, that's what I was missing, I completely ignored the "other" word in Power of Command u_U.
