Premise

My optimized solo deck if you only own one original Core Set. The idea here is pretty simple - you use your low strating threat, decent starting willpower, draw and threat reduction to slowly build up your boardstate in a constructive manner, keeping below the engagement cost of nasty enemies all the while. Once you are suitably set up, you can hopefully kill most things through your swarm of allies while keeping a lid on questing through Faramir, on treacheries through A Test of Will and on locations through Northern Tracker.

How To Play

Cards I like to see a lot early on are Steward of Gondor and Henamarth Riversong, especially the former. A hand with Steward is almost never a mulligan and you play it usually on Éowyn. From there on, you draw with Beravor most of the time (but not always!) to have uses for all the resources you are going to produce. The Galadhrim's Greeting or Gandalf are also great early cards since they ensure that you stay at a low threat and don't need to engage many enemies early on, something the deck can really struggle with.

Considerations

Self Preservation is not a card I like very much but if you are facing a lot of pressure in terms of direct damage, it can be life-saving to have even if you already run Daughter of the Nimrodel. For Gondor! is great if you are worried about killing big enemies, something the deck can struggle with. Grim Resolve is a very flashy card that is mostly not that useful in solo but can be a lifesaving tool in some quests that pressure you on multiple fronts.

Enjoy!!!

I'm playing a 2 handed decks with only the core set!!! it's interesting to find old combo against new quest!

I'm relatively new to the game. One question: why is Beorn there? Since I don't have a hero from the tactics sphere, how can I play him?

Jun 10, 2024 Mormegil 5393

@Cooper Welcome to rhe game! Beorn can still be played either with Stand and Fight (since you can reliably get him in you discard pile with Éowyn) or (temporarily) be put into play with Sneak Attack.

Vielen Dank für die schnelle Antwort. Ich dachte bis jetzt ich dürfte nur Karten in meinem Deck haben, die ich mit meinen Sphären auch bezahlen kann

@Cooper nein, dein Deck kannst du vollständig frei bauen. Theoretisch kannst du drei Tactics Helden spielen und das ganze Deck nur mit Lore Karten bauen. Spheres sind nur dann wichtig, wenn du eine Karte auch tatsächlich spielen willst.
