Please keep in mind that I don't own the 6 packs from the Haradrim cycle nor the Vengeance of Mordor cycle/Deluxe set.
I've finally managed to put together a Treebeard deck that works pretty well.
The idea is simple: boost his hit points with a copy of Ent Draught and use numerous tools you have to keep him ready and healed so that you can abuse his special ability during questing and combat phases.
Arwen Undómiel and Bifur will allow you to juggle the resources for more expensive cards.
The card draw with Mithrandir's Advice, Elven-light, Gléowine and Master of the Forge should be sufficient.
Reforged will allow you to recycle some readying/healing effects even during combat. Erebor Hammersmith will also allow you to reuse Lembas, Healing Herbs and Miruvor a few more times.
Initially I had Westfold Horse-breakers included in this deck, but 2 resources might be too steep of a cost for one-time readying effect. I left him on a sideboard.
If you play multiplayer, you could try using Dúnedain Cache and play it with Reforged - ranged Treebeard could be fun ;).
I usually prefer using the Treebeard ally, but this deck really surprised me with how well it plays ;). Give it a try and tell me whether it worked for you.

Jun 17, 2024Like I said in the description, I don't own the last cycle so I can't use Song of Healing. In my games I've used Healing Herbs numerous times (I usually play them on Bifur). I can quest with Treebeard, boost his by 5 and then heal him with Healing Herbs by exhausting Bifur. I net +3 this way (instead of just sending Bifur to quest). |
are the Healing Herbs really worth it? i wuld think they are rgere as safety and often will not be used. would perhaps add 1-2 Song of Healing (if u can get that) or replace with Elf-stone or evan Warden of Healing a 2. Protector of Lórien could be soething to think about, you might have enough cards and increase up to 6 could be usefull fighting dragons and balrogs and perhaps make the Hasty Stroke not needed.
