This is my take on a Bond of Friendship deck using Hobbits. This deck will change once I buy the repackaged Ered Mithrin and The Return of the King expansions and get all the good new Hobbit cards from there, but I didn't want to wait for that to start playing with this deck haha.
How to play this deck:
- Red Book of Westmarch should go on Sam Gamgee.
- Frodo Baggins is the defender, so he gets a Ring Mail, Staff of Lebethron and Boots from Erebor.
- Merry is the attacker, so he gets both Dagger of Westernesses. Remember that because you have 4 Hobbit heroes, Merry starts with 4 !
- Otherwise this plays like a normal Hobbit deck: Pippin and Sam Gamgee are questers, throw a Fast Hitch or Unexpected Courage on Merry, engage only as many enemies as you can handle.
- Battle-fury is specifically a personal choice that I happen to think works really well in this deck, because if you have an enemy that for some reason you weren't able to defeat, you can pay the 1 and 1 resources to have Merry attack and defeat the enemy and then commit his 2 (or even 3 if you have the Red Book of Westmarch out) to the quest!
Notes:
- Some of the card choices (especially Boots from Erebor and Ring Mail) were inspired by this deck.
- Once I get the above-mentioned expansions, A Good Harvest will be replaced with The Shirefolk.
- The Steward of Gondors in this list are actually a custom card Seal of the Steward. (Leadership attachment, same cost as Steward of Gondor and isn't unique but only adds 1 resource each time it is exhausted and doesn't grant the Gondor trait.) I used it because in this deck I would rather spread out the resource gain across multiple heroes, but the original Steward of Gondor will still work.
