warlock000 has a newer deck inspired by this one: Revised Content Only: Know what you discard

Please keep in mind that I don't own the 6 packs from the Haradrim cycle nor the Vengeance of Mordor cycle/Deluxe set.

update: If you want the fastest possible resource acceleration, swap 2x Long Lake Fisherman for 1x Zigil Miner and 1x Will of the West. I think the deck works even better this way and is more consistent. This is was the intended initial build, I changed it last minute before publishing to increase chances for drawing Wizard Pipe even further, but it's an overkill ;). 3rd Will of the West is also great for long quests.

This has to be one of my favourite decks. You have so much control over what you can do with the top of your deck (Ring of Thrór can be bonkers when timed right). It's rather advanced (you have to make the most out of your action windows, especially when it comes to discarding cards from the top of the deck), but I think it's great! You can pull off some amazing combos here.

The most important thing you have to do is to play Wizard Pipe on Gandalf - you'll figure out the rest ;).

If you defend with Dáin Ironfoot, use his ability to cycle cards, even if you don't need extra . You see each and every card that comes on top of your deck thanks to Gandalf - often you'll be able to hit Hidden Cache or Ered Luin Miner, or even discard duplicates of unique cards. You may even want to cycle cards untill you see Elrond's Counsel or Well-Equipped appear on top and simply play them with Gandalf (his ability is once per phase). You'll be suprised how often Well-Equipped will allow you to "cheat into play" Unexpected Courage or some armor for free in the middle of the battle! Well-Equipped can do wonders here.

And remember, playing Erebor Toymaker from the top of your deck with Gandalf still triggers his ability.

I used to have a copy of Imladris Stargazer included, but it's usually a bit superfluous here, you have good control over your top card thank's to Gandalf so it's better to spend your 2 spirit resources elsewhere (Long Lake Fisherman is a good, more active alternative - he'll help you find a much needed card and can be used in questing or combat). Imladris Stargazer is worth including in a multiplayer setup though - Long Lake Fisherman may be swapped freely in such case.

Super cool deck! Do you need three copies of Wizard Pipe when you already have two Bilbo Baggins? I would cut one of those for another Zigil Miner, which seems like one of the best cards in your deck since you can play him Turn 1 and immediately get ~67% of a Steward of Gondor (considering how many 2 cost cards you have).

Believe it or not, I had 3x Zigil Miner initially and I cut one of them just before publishing this version ;). He's still on sideboard, you can include him if you feel that you want a faster resource acceleration. Wizard Pipe is very important here, having 2x Bilbo and 3x Wizard Pipe is very intentional here ;). If you want, you can swap one Long Lake Fisherman for Zigil Miner ;)
