Introduction

I like the Three Hunters contract decks with some originality and fun not no-brain mechanics. Here we are the Rohan classic heroes Éowyn / Fastred, with Faramir instead of Éomer. Obviously the Eomer version is way better and more consistent in particular against harder scenarios. However the current deck creates a mix between challenge and fresh change in true solo. Plus, some nice Lore effects complete the Three Hunters scheme.

Strategy

After the usual rush playing of Restreint attachments to flip the contract, the resources will be used to improve the attachments and to benefit from Faramir style of play.

I included 2 essential thematic cards for Eowyn's fiancé : Great Yew Bow + Ranger Spikes. That configuration is more suitable to solo 3 Hunters than is Ithilien Pit, in my opinion.

The idea is neither to showcase all possible traps (that voraciousness would partly explain why "thematic traps decks" are often so slow and hard to manage), nor to let live in staging area as many ennemies as possible. The goal is to increase Faramir "native attack" at 4 or 5 in converting the two or three trapped ennemies in simple arithmetic bonuses, like Forest Snare would do for the Dunedain archetype.

Then, Interrogation benefits from some "eternal trap ennemy" to scry encounter deck, accurately plan another trap playing or discard a card that we do not want of (great against "That effect can not be cancelled" cards). It Should Be Spared can optimize the process.

With a Ranger hero and a Noble one we can use Proud Hunters to help Faramir to pay faster for its cards. I put 1 x A Good Harvest in the deck too.

To speed the contract up and increase the odds to have the right attachments at the right time, I added several drawing types cards : Daeron's Runes (that will discard duplicates or useless cards), Open the Armory, Foe-hammer, and Gather Information.

You generally will try to avoid the engagements, and just choose and attack some untrapped / surplus ennemy in the staging area. Nevertheless if you were to be engaged by an ennemy, Fastred + Inner Strength + Golden Shield + Round Shield would defend, then return that ennemy back to staging area and reduce your threat level, indirectly increasing Faramir efficiency the next turn (especially if you get Hands Upon the Bow).

Other cards : Magic Ring and Wingfoot are attached to Faramir (by default name the "ennemy" type).

Adjustments

Glamdring could be risky early game, but it depends on the scenario. Anyway it can be easier to fetch and a nice way to keep growing after flipping the contract. Stone of Elostirion is an auto-include facing The Temple of the Deceived (since the encounter deck gets no location) and in several scenarios of the cycle 6.

If the scenario has some bad Condition attachment, add Power of Orthanc to your deck. Will of the West will be useful against scenarios that trap you with some heavy discarding mechanism.
