Onidsen 1134

This deck is a combat deck designed to complement a Éowyn/Théoden/Gríma questing deck in general play. (Link here: http://ringsdb.com/deck/view/55758)

Haradrim Spear is proxying in for Guthwine, a new Weapon card released in the Mountain of Fire expansion that adds +2 to a Rohan character for a single attack.

This deck is built around high-powered heroes, and getting the most out of their activations. The two key combinations are Erkenbrand/Armored Destrier/Dúnedain Warning and Éomer/Firefoot/Guthwine. With both combinations in play, Erkenbrand can defend twice for 5 or more , and then Eomer can attack once for 10 , dealing extra damage to a powerful enemy (or outright killing a weak one) if he overkills, and return an ally from the discard pile to your hand. Against a quest where 2 attacks at 8 would be more valuable than 1 attack at 10 , 3 copies of Rohan Warhorse can be subbed in to replace Guthwine.

Elfhelm increases the combat ability of this deck significantly, boosting attack and defense on the other heroes. He will mostly be used to quest, however, an extra copy of Armored Destrier or a Steed of the Mark from the other deck could find a home on him to boost his stats as the specific quest requires.

The allies are mostly Rohan allies that can all serve as targets for Guthwine. In particular, the Westfold Outrider, Snowbourn Scout, and Grimbold are good targets to retrieve after discarding for their effect or chump blocking. In addition, any Rohan ally can be discarded from your hand to fuel Éowyn's questing, and retrieved after attacking with Eomer.

Song of Battle helps Erkenbrand pay for the expensive allies, in addition to giving him an extra point of (due to Elfhelm's effect) to help strike back at enemies after defending, if needed. Also, The Day's Rising generates even more resources that can be used for cards of either sphere. To help out in the early game, Captain's Wisdom can be played on Eomer on a round where little combat is likely. In a quest where there's not likely to be room to exhaust Éomer for the extra resources, Legacy of Númenor can replace Captain's Wisdom.

A second copy of Song of Battle can be played cross-table onto Théoden to give him extra , or even onto Elfhelm if the combat situation requires.

Prepare for Battle significantly helps both decks with their card draw, if it comes out in time. In a quest that punishes player side quests, Valiant Sacrifice can be subbed in instead, although it's much less consistent.

I don’t understand Haradrim Spear. Is that a typo?

No - this is quite an old deck. If I recall right, I built it after Mountain of Fire had been spoiled but before it was released, and Gúthwinë wasn't in the RingsDB database yet, so I used a Weapon attachment with the same cost as a proxy for that card. I think I mentioned that in the deck description, actually. But that was what was going on.
