Maogrim 111
The Theme
Accompanied by a carefully selected retinue representing the realms of Rohan and Isengard, Gríma Wormtongue, a young man with ambition, wise and cunning beyond his years, travels to Harad, to forge an alliance with a tribe of fearsome yet noble warriors. Will the ambassador's quest to muster allies against the shadow re-emerging in Mordor be successful, or is his endeavor doomed from the start?
The Deck
This is my take to build a hopefully semi-successful deck featuring Kahliel and his band of Haradrim as well as my personal favourites Gríma, and some Isengard-themed cards. The plan is simple: Make sure Resourceful is in your starting hand, as well as some other kinds of resource-generation. Survive the first few turns, then muster those powerful Harad allies and have fun.
Card draw is provided by Gléowine, Steward of Orthanc or Daeron's Runes. Strider is very nice if you get it in your starting hand, but no priority. Resources for Khaliel come in the form of Captain's Wisdom, Legacy of Númenor, Tighten Our Belts and Envoy of Pelargir. I also put Steward of Gondor in the sideboard, but would like to avoid it for thematic purposes. The brand-new Southron Refugee provides another way of getting these precious powerful unique Haradrim a little earlier.
This deck is not yet tested, so I'd be grateful for input, comments and criticism. Thanks in advance!
