Introduction

This must be one of my most fun-to-play decks. :)

Strategy

  1. Steward of Gondor goes on Elrond. Mulligan either for Steward or Visionary Leadership. Captain's Wisdom is also great in your opening hand.

  2. Visionary Leadership goes on Prince Imrahil (you will usually keep his one resource 'till the combat phase anyway). This way all of your heroes will quest for +1 .

  3. There are a few wonderful targets for Imrahil's ability here like Beorn, Háma, Boromir and Marksman of Lórien (among others): Hama can defend twice for 5 which is amazing (and you will shuffle him back into the deck if you put him into play via Prince Imrahil, so you just might to be able to find him again next round). Beorn can swing for 8 out of nowhere. Grimbold is basically your Feint, he can be life-saving (Mablung can do something similar!). And if you play him normally, you can still use him for questing. Boromir potenially can defend numerous times and swing back later on ;). Envoy of Pelargir will give you a free resource to any of your heroes, sometimes giving you that precious resource for Sneak Attack). Squire of the Citadel will also give you a resource back if you chump-block with him. You can even play a Warden of Healing this way, especially in archery-heavy quests.

  4. A Very Good Tale can be FANTASTIC in this deck (you may consider putting a 3rd copy). You can bring a super expensive ally into play using Imrahil's ablity during combt and e.g. Sneak Attack another ally, then exhaust both and hopefully discard a few free-ones ;).

  5. You can use "spare" copies of Steward of Gondor and Visionary Leadership as "fuel" for Daeron's Runes or, better yet, Glorfindel and his once-per-phase readying.

Sideboard

There are a few allies you can experiment with (I still cannot decide whether I should swap e.g. Gondorian Spearman with Galadhon Archer, but I decided to keep the Spearman as he benefits from Visionary Leadership). Longbeard Orc Slayer can work nicely in orc-heavy quests.

I had to cut Last Stand from this deck, but I think it could be really good here, it's definitely worth trying out!

If you need more location control, try including Strider's Path or The Evening Star, but always keep at least 30 allies in your deck.

Have fun, there are quite a few sweet combos in this deck! ;)
