Have you ever thought to yourself "hmm, I want to harvest the potential of Silvan Tracker, but there aren't any good targets!"? You're in luck! Introducing, Elf-friend! No one makes a better companion to forest dwelling elves than the forest itself, thus enters Treebeard.

Alright, the main aspect of this deck is to capitalize on Treebeard's powerful abilities by giving him the Silvan/Noldor traits for extra perks. Light of Valinor so Treebeard can quest for 2-7 without exhausting. Treebeard's variable questing capability is incredibly useful - oh, I needed two more progress to clear the location/the quest, let's just damage Treebeard and keep on moving. Once Silvan Trackers or Wellinghall Preservers are on the table, Treebeard will be back to full health in no time every round. In fact there's so much healing here that you can easily give him bonuses during both the quest phase and the combat phase. Warden of Healing, Ioreth, and Lembas rounds out the rest of the healing effects. Keep using Treebeard's amazing stats through the use of Lembas and Unexpected Courage. Don't forget, A Burning Brand makes Treebeard into a powerful defender (truly a triple threat hero) [EDIT: latest Burning Brand erratum makes it restricted so it no longer works with Treebeard]. Jubayr is in the deck to relieve defensive pressure from Treebeard by mid-late game so he can focus on attacking.

This is designed as a solo deck and is well-rounded in its ability to quest and do combat. It can easily pair with another questing deck or a deck with a heavier focus on combat (providing others with plenty of healing access once your Wardens/Trackers/Preservers hit the table).

Opening Hand:

I'm either looking for Elf-friend or Nenya. With Elf-friend on Treebeard, Arwen Undómiel's ability can put the resource on him to generate 2 resources per round. Similarly, with Nenya out Galadriel gains the icon. This is important because many of the allies are 2-3 cost and the quicker you can get out some kind of healing, the more use you can get out of Treebeard's damage boosts. Galadriel is often used on one's self to draw cards.

Mid Game:

I hope to have Elf-friend + Light of Valinor on Treebeard, possibly an Unexpected Courage or Lembas for additional readies as well. At this point you should have a few useful allies - preferably a mixing of questers/healers.

Late Game:

I generally get Glorfindel or Jubayr out late in the game. Jubayr helps Treebeard by taking some of the defensive capability (don't forget Jubayr is sentinel). At this point there is usually an overload of healing going on that Treebeard can swing for the fences every round.

Other Notes:

  • Ent Draught is meant for Treebeard and Jubayr.

  • I have found it useful to put the 2nd Elf Friend on Galadriel, for the sole purpose of her soaking an undefended attack and healing it quicker through Trackers. Elf-Friend can otherwise be useful on Jubayr if he is already in play.

  • Mirror is for emergencies, but rarely gets used. Sometimes I play it simply as a buffer for any shadows that "discard an attachment from defending player" effects.

You should try Fair and Perilous for maximum attack power.

What is a good deck to pair with this? I have been making and remaking decks to find a good pair, but I can't quite settle on one. I've tried something with Bilbo Baggins and Elrond or a triple Silvan deck with Celeborn, Thranduil, and Gildor Inglorion. Both aid the healing of this deck, don't overlap, and provide some questing support. I don't think it's enough.

@Jelius

Mostly this deck lacks early defense (as Treebeard will either be questing or attacking). A deck with Elrond is a good idea as he allows Treebeard to use his ability more often.

I've definitely paired it with this one before: ringsdb.com which has strong questing and provides the combat the Treebeard deck lacks early game (most importantly, provides sentinel defense to take some pressure off Treebeard).
