Flamewright 69
Hear now all peoples who bow not to the Shadow in the East, by the gift of the Lord of Mundberg we will come to dwell in the land that he names Calenardhon, and therefore I vow in my own name and on behalf of the Éothéod of the North that between us and the Great People of the West there shall be friendship for ever: their enemies shall be our enemies, their need shall be our need, and whatsoever evil, or threat, or assault may come upon them we will aid them to the utmost end of our strength.
This is my attempt at making a solo-viable Gondor-Rohan deck. It represents the alliance between the new King of Rohan and his noble Gondorian family by law.
The recently released Lothíriel hero does an excellent job bridging the gap between the two archetypes and I was excited to find that this deck is strong enough to put up a fight with most scenarios and yet has no cards that thematically feel out of place.
- Allies
Since the shared strength of Lothíriel and Prince Imrahil is the mustering of allies, either for questing or combat, we want our comrades to have a big impact on the turn they come into play, as we won't have them for long. Soldier of Gondor, Knight of Belfalas, Envoy of Pelargir have strong ETB effects and have excellent synergy with each other, whereas Escort from Edoras and Riddermark Knight give a single strong push in questing and combat respectively.
Your unique allies such as Beorn, Háma, and Déorwine excel in combat whereas Faramir, Grimbold act as force multipliers, keeping the engines rolling and helping in more punishing scenarios.
- Attachments
Firefoot, and Gúthwinë turn Éomer into a killing machine who can redistribute some extra damage AND bring back a Rohan ally who died for glory. With Rohirrim Scout, you can make sure troublesome enemies stay in staging to be picked off next turn.
Silver Circlet and Horn of the Mark are for Lothíriel, who can quest for 5, bring an Escort from Edoras (questing for 9 "alone") and then draw a card to replace the Escort with the Horn.
Similar to the Horn of the Mark, the Horn of Gondor allows Imrahil to replace the resource he spends when his mustered ally dies, and the Gondorian Shield turns him into a formidable defender, alongside the Defender of Rammas. Lastly, Imrahil gains the title of the Steward of Gondor to ensure you always have the resources for his powerful mustering ability, which gives you an amazing amount of control over the game.
You could actually include a couple of the actual Oath of Eorl
