As I was looking through my collection for inspiration, I came across Watcher of the Bruinen and Trollshaw Scout. I probably haven't looked at these cards since I got the Dwarrowdelf packs, but they seemed not too bad with Elven-light in the card pool. I ended up cutting Trollshaw Scout, mainly because he didn't fit with the deck: Watcher of the Bruinen, Aragorn, Glorfindel, and Veteran Sword-elf are all Warrior traited, adding quite a bit of synergy with the attachments.

With a Raiment of War, Hauberk of Mail, and Cloak of Lórien, Watcher of the Bruinen becomes a 5 defense 5 hit point defender that doesn't exhaust. Additional copies of the Watcher can be given a War Axe or Warrior Sword to become a fairly potent attacker. If you can't discard a card, the Watcher can be discarded and Bard son of Brand returns the attachments to your hand to go on another Watcher. Perhaps Stand and Fight would be a good include, but I haven't needed it. I've had a lot of fun playing this deck and was able to keep up with defenses in Fate of Wilderland in a two player game. Not the most powerful or consistent deck, but it is fun.

Mulligan for the Watcher and Elven-Light.

Neat. A different take on the Vigilant Dunedain deck. I like it. You could consider changing some of the weapons for Rivendell Blade, but with Aragorn, maybe that is too much defense reduction. I'd add a couple of Silver Harps though!

Very nice idea. Have you thought about including Arwen Undómiel instead (perhaps as a MotK) to boost the Watcher of the Bruinen even more?

@aermet69``@Alonewolf87Thanks for the suggestions! Generally, the attack buffs are more needed than defense reductions thanks to Aragorn, maybe Rivendell Blade would be a good sideboard option for certain quests. Silver Harps would be a nice include though.

Ally Arwen would be nice, but I use hero Arwen instead to possibly give Aragorn a resource to play a Watcher turn 1. In practice, the biggest limiting factor with this deck has been tactics resources, so I personally wouldn't want to take Aragorn's extra resources away. Maybe I'll make a version with MotK to try it out as an extra defense available from the start sounds really tempting.

Cheers!

For the best of both worlds Arwen Undómiel + Thorongil Arwen Undómiel

@Alonewolf87lol, true. I wonder if this would help the deck or slow it down, now needing a 3 cost attachment in the deck you need to pay for. However, once it's out it would be awesome. I guess it just depends if a partner deck can cover in the early game or if you need a strong start. Good way to go for tough quests with time to build.

Could also change Arwen for Elladan and Elrohir for more attack power and more tactics resources. Though you're missing out on the early resource boost from Arwen. If you do get to the sea early, then you don't need a lot of spirit resources. In any case, I'd consider adding Hasty Stroke and Revealed in Wrath both shore up random stuff that drops you.

@aermet69 I love using the brothers! Not sure if it's right for this deck specifically: it is really important to have spirit resources to have elven-light available to keep the Watcher in play. However, if Elrohir is available as a secondary defender, it wouldn't be as crucial. Seems like a fun variant on this deck. Perhaps even replace Bard with MotK Elrohir and get the Elven Cloak and Hauberk in play with Reforged. Shadow cancelation is a good call.

Very cool deck, I build a similar one a while ago to defeat Fords of Isen: ringsdb.com Main difference is that i used Beorn instead of Aragorn to cover early defense til the Watcher is set-up. Seeing your deck I should have included Cloak of Lórien as well, thats a card i somehow always forget about.

How much value do you get out of the Veteran Sword-elf? It seems at the point you get them fully boosted you should have combat covered with the Watcher. I think i would rather have Honour Guard to protect the watcher and as pseudo healing or include mor spirit allies to balance the sphere curve.

@Roka I get use out of the Sword-Elf around every 3rd game or so: it is there as back-up discard fodder in case I don't get Elven-Light or can't draw it back. It also makes a good back-up defender in case I don't get a Watcher or if I don't have a card to discard and need to defend. It's not needed, so Honour Guard is a good replacement if you think it's better.
