Beregond is an amazing defender by himself, but with all the tools that he's been given lately, he's way more amazing than he used to be.

This deck was designed for solo play and focuses around giving Beregond all the attachments he can handle, and then just coasting the rest of the quest, using Glorfindel and Amarthiúl to take out enemies and mainly relying on allies for questing.

Eventually, you'd like to give Beregond all of the following (in order of priority): Blood of Númenor, 2 of [Gondorian Shield, Staff of Lebethron, Armored Destrier, Livery of the Tower], Unexpected Courage, The Day's Rising. This way Beregond can defend for a lot multiple times per turn while discarding shadow cards along the way. Not to mention if you defend and take no damage, you get to lower your threat by one (via Beregond), and Beregond gains a resource (via The Day's Rising). Steward of Gondor usually goes on Beregond - either to ensure that you can play allies as soon as you draw them (you really need them because hero questing isn't great) or to increase your resources for Blood of Númenor/Livery of the Tower/Rod of the Steward.

Amarthiúl is the perfect hero to pair with Beregond. as Amarthiúl gives you access to both spheres that all of Beregond's toys are in, and can also be an emergency defender in case you get too many enemies engaged. Glorfindel is here to keep threat low, quest for "free", and eliminate defense (via Rivendell Blade).

Let me know what you think or if you'd play any other cards in this deck. Thanks!

Silver Lamp is also amazing with spirit Beregond!
