TheChad 13754

TheChad has a newer deck inspired by this one: Crossing the Poros road

As mentioned on COTR, I am really digging the new mining archetype. See what I did there?

This deck is a ton of fun to play and gets rolling quickly. You start with 4 resources thanks to Arwen. You can quest hard out of the gate with 2 heroes, leaving one behind for combat. Once The Grey Pilgrim has his horse, and assuming a location was explored you can quest with all 3 heroes and have Gandalf and Lady Dunedain ready for combat.

Opening Hand Mulligan for Imladris Stargazer and a way to get Wizard Pipe. Bilbo can help with this. Elven-light is good to see as well.

Piloting instructions This deck has 4 cards that discard cards from your deck: Erebor Guard, Zigil Miner, Expert Treasure-hunter, and Flame of Anor. Using Gandalf's ability with the help of Stargazer, you can arrange the top 5 cards of your deck to always discard the cards you want. Exhaust Stargazer during the refresh phase to set up the next 5 cards. The top card you will draw, the 2nd and 3rd card will be discarded via Zigi or the Guard. Ideally you want these to be Hidden Cache, Elven-light, Glorfindel, or Ered Luin Miner. The 4th card is now available for Gandalf's ability to put into play. You should be able to 'use' 4-5 of the cards you gazed at each round, making Stargazer incredibly powerful.
With the resources you gain from the cache and Zigi you can afford the high cost allies, don't forget about the Elf hanging out in your discard pile. Use the Eleven lights to draw more cards.

2 copies of Master of the Forge are in there if you can't find one of Gandalf's toys and to shuffle the deck, but you have to make sure he is sitting on top of the deck if you want to play him.

Why do you want to shuffle the deck? Dwarf Pipe!

Once you get a dwarf in play you can attach a pipe on him, now when you discard a Hidden Cache you can place it on the bottom of your deck, shuffle, hopefully find it again for more resources. Since you are mining your deck fairly quickly the odds increase of finding one or 2 each round. Smoking is also very handy if you have Zigi, but no Stargazer. You know the top card, but of course the next card is something you did not want to discard. Dwarf pipe puts it back in your deck.

Glorfindel is a great target to exhaust for Tale of TinĂºviel since he can be readied afterwards.

Happy mining!

Nice deck. I also enjoy the pun.
