Premise
Not the strongest deck out there, but still a lot of fun I find. It utilizes The Grey Wanderer with Treebeard's ability, meaning you will almost always have uses for two options of the contract (most often gaining resources and healing the damage).
A lot of Grey Wanderer decks have issues questing right out of the gate, this one does not, having a starting willpower of 8 from the get-go (through Strider as well as Treebeard himself). From there on, it is just generic ally swarming to build up a large enough board state in the latter rounds and further turtling by exploring a bunch of side-quests.
How To Play
Grab Strider with the contract and keep hands that enable a quick swarm. Cards you like to see early are good allies and A Very Good Tale. Magic Ring is also very useful, since the deck can be a bit starved for resources. The deck should then very much play itself, it is not very complicated to pilot correctly whatsoever.
Considerations
Northern Tracker and The Long Defeat (which combos nicely with Erebor Hammersmith) are cards I like to include in higher player counts. Drinking Song is great for saga quests while Heed the Dream can be a nice glue card if you want a little more consistency.
Enjoy!!!
Thank you for this awesome project @Mormegil. About this deck, I notice that The Road Goes Ever On is not part of the revised content, is that an oversight? How would you change it?
