Rating:

  • Preferred Player Count: 2 - 4
  • Complexity: High
  • Time Intensity: Medium
  • Focus: Balanced

Synopsis:

This Outlands deck has 2 main aspects:

Outlands provide a huge boost if you can get them out quickly. To achieve this, you will need a lot of resources and cards. Both Gildor Inglorion and Théodred are in this deck to help you with these two challenges. If you succeed in these aspects, you will have a great game where an occasional wizard will guide you towards victory. If not, prepare for the struggle!

How it's played:

This deck looks for either draw or resources. So cards to mulligan for are:

Once you get the cards you need in hand, let the Outland swarm begin. Use Gandalf and Lord of Morthond for some extra draw and your army as quickly as possible.

Strengths: High potential on all stat lines, Sneaky Gandalf

Weaknesses: Early stats can be very unreliable.

Changes:

The biggest change is swapping out Denethor for Théodred. This change means there is no longer a first round defender available and your opening round options are reduced. On the contrary, Théodred brings more resources to the table than Denethor. To overcome the lack of a defender an extra copy of Horns! Horns! Horns! and Tome of Atanatar are inserted such that it's easier to cheat Gandalf in. Besides the hero change also many of the mono-leadership have been removed to make room for some early willpower. This reduces the dependency on Ethir Swordsman and allows you to bring good willpower until the outlands take over.
