This deck is part of a set of 16 decks, for all details check out the project here: 16 Decks Were Given to the Race of Men.

Rating:

  • Preferred Player Count: 3 - 4
  • Complexity: Medium
  • Time Intensity: High
  • Focus: Combat

Synopsis:

This combat oriented deck aims to kill as many enemies as possible from the beginning to the end of the game by using the Merry-Aragorn combination. Try to get as much readying on Merry as possible, while building Aragorn's attack strength. Pippin is there to fuel the engine card-wise. The deck is confident killing enemies in the 7-9 (def + hp) range. The deck contributes very little in terms of willpower.

How it's played:

You usually look for either Peace, and Thought, Rohan Warhorse or Fast Hitch. Once you attached all readying attachments to Merry, you can start killing.

The ultimate combo would repeat the following sequence:

Aragorn and Merry have a combined attack strength of (effectively) 6 from the get-go, so with just a single weapon on Aragorn and a few readying attachments on Merry, this deck becomes a serious killing machine for enemies up to a combined + of 8. Slightly larger enemies can be killed using Mighty Prowess and Unseen Strike. If that still doesn't suffice, a fully-setup Keeping Count might do the trick. Several events and defenders are included in case no sentinel defender is present on the table. The 1-cost defenses you have at your disposal are Feint, Ranger of Cardolan and Raise the Shire into Gaffer Gamgee. This final one can be repeated by making good of use Dúnedain Pipe. Pippin is your lone quester.

Strengths: Being able to clear the table of enemies very effectively

Weaknesses: Willpower and early defense
