This deck is part of a set of 16 decks, for all details check out the project here: 16 Decks Were Given to the Race of Men.

Rating:

  • Preferred Player Count: 2-4
  • Complexity: Low
  • Time Intensity: Low
  • Focus: Balanced

Synopsis:

This dwarf deck gives you a typical sense of what a basic dwarf deck can do. Dáin Ironfoot's ability provides extremely solid willpower and, after a few allies have entered the fray, cards like A Very Good Tale helps you in building your bearded army. Dwarves have good stat lines in general, so getting as many of them into play is your primary goal.

How it's played:

A good opening hand isn't easily defined for this deck. The best way to sum it up would be "keep any hand that enables you to build up your dwarf-swarm early". Cards that help with that are the already mentioned A Very Good Tale (+some targets that enable an early trigger), Steward of Gondor or Legacy of Númenor/The Seeing-stone.

Additionally to swarming, you want to ensure not running out of cards in hand, which make King Under the Mountain and Legacy of Durin very important cogs in this machine.

Strengths: Willpower, Early Defense

Weaknesses: Early Attack

Changes:

We changed Bifur into Ori and Bifur ally. This adds to the draw of the deck and allows to sacrifice a bit of the draw that was already in the deck in favor of building up Dáin Ironfoot. Fully equipped, Dáin Ironfoot has 5 , 6 and Magic Ring to provide extra healing, defense and attack. We also added a copy of Will of the West such that you can go through your deck once more.
