Troglo 85

Troglo has a newer deck inspired by this one: People of the Stones (true solo)

Introduction

An original deck which benefits from the amazing and fun but underrated event Hail of Stones. The great thing is to make double use of low-cost allies (and sometimes who "can not attack") in order to optimize your budget plan and swarming's efficiency. Honestly who wouldn't smile imagining Ioreth destroying an Undead enemy with stones ?

Strategy

Denethor brings the 2 resources to play 1st round Steward of Gondor.

Mulligan for drawing options, Legacy of Númenor or Steward of Gondor. Then use Master of the Forge to fetch the attachments you miss. That allow you to outpace most of the scenarios since the first round. When you're coming close to 49 threat, trigger the Aragorn's action.

Attach all attachments to Aragorn, except Armored Destrier and Gondorian Shield that go to Denethor. This one will be the main (and pretty good) defender. Otherwise you could chump-block with some cheap ally.

Hail of Stones give an opportunity and timing advantage : with so many allies you could easily destroy an ennemy before the engagement phase, and even before the questing phase - that's an indirect way to progress in the quest. That event, along with the willpower boosters, guarantee all your allies in play will be relevant during the whole game. Even if you have all the nice attachments you need, Master of the Forge will be transformed into an questing or fighting engine. Ioreth, Errand-rider, Honour Guard, Squire of the Citadel are even more powerful, thanks to the Visionary Leadership bonus.

Obviously, when one needs a specific ally for its ability, you'll trigger it. Ioreth heals, Honour Guard prevents you from some direct or excess damage, and Henamarth Riversong is an important strategic piece in that deck to better distribute the roles and tasks in anticipating what will come out of the deck during the next staging step. Errand-rider helps the tri-sphere to work at its best.

The advantage of Háma here is not its ability to play Hail of Stones up to 6 times in the game, but to fetch it from the discard pile when you expect to need it the next round.

Adjustments

If the scenario is very long or hugely delves your deck, you can include 1 or 2 x Will of the West in it (Celebrían's Stone allow you to play it). If the scenario turtles, you can add Gather Information. If it gets few (or none) locations, you can add Stone of Elostirion.

Have fun !
