I wanted to make a deck that was mono leadership and I also wanted to explore Gondor swarm some more after having played the starter deck and feeling that it was lackluster in some ways especially in terms of questing potential. The backbone of this deck was based off achieving 3 simultaneous global buffs in Aragorn and Sword that was Broken, Boromir and Visionary Leadership, and Faramir. With all these conditions met, the Gondor swarm would be able to quest a significant amount. Gildor Inglorion is here to provide some much needed card draw in this deck along with Prepare for Battle. The only threat reduction is in the form of Pillars of the Kings.
In my plays, I would look to get Steward of Gondor onto Aragorn then play a Herald of Anórien along with another 2 cost ally into A Very Good Tale to have 4 allies out in turn 1. CelebrÃan's Stone should go on Gildor Inglorion since he will always be questing (unless you wanted to splash in . Build Aragorn and Boromir however between Shining Shield, Armored Destrier, Valiant Sword, and The Day's Rising. I prefer Aragorn being the main defender due to him having Sentinel. Obviously, this doesn't matter in solo. I specifically made this deck to go against A Storm on Cobas Haven. I still have to try it out against other quests to flesh out a better side board. At minimum, I like how it played and I would greatly appeciate any thoughts on it.

Jun 25, 2025Tome of Atanatar is a good option in mono leadership to cycle either A Very Good Tale or Pillars of the Kings. |
Nice line-up heroes. Gildor is nice to see. In general, mono-leadership Gondor swarm has a higher density of allies (> 33) to optimize A Very Good Tale and Soldier of Gondor. I think the mix between a deck focused on Aragorn attachments stuffing + Gondor swarming tends to slow the swarm. Even with Gildor drawing and Pillars of the Kings's potential draw, the deck gets not much opportunity or time to follow two different structural goals. Plus, A Very Good Tale tends to work against attachments. And if Aragorn is a main defender here, it lacks of some healing option. So most often, we keep the thematic trio : Denethor, (MotK) Faramir and Boromir, and use chump-blockers (think to Squire of the Citadel + Valiant Sacrifice).
