I have been meaning to build a deck using just two heroes for some time and these two seemed the obvious pairing - both thematically and as a powerful combo. Arwen's action means we won't be missing the additional resource from a third hero.

In our starting hand, we are looking for Strider and Light of Valinor as they will enable our star-crossed lovers to quest and attack/defend from the off. Failing either of these, Steward of Gondor and Unexpected Courage are equally as good at keeping our heroes ready after questing. The Silver Harp would also be a keeper as it would provide free use of Arwen's action each round.

The main tricks of the trade of the deck are to use Sneak Attack and Valiant Sacrifice on Gandalf & Elrond (I had been playing it on Galadriel until I was informed her ability only works when she is played and not 'put into play') to try and draw as many cards as possible. Each of our allies provide some form of card draw of their own although Gandalf should be used primarily for threat reduction or dealing with enemies with a high and Elrond's main task is to keep our heroes healthy and free of nasty condition attachments. Galadriel should try to be used to play Dagger of Westernesse on our doughty ranger; unless of course he has his trusty steed, Roheryn, and therefore a icon to his name. Other than that, it's all pretty obvious really. Once Aragorn's is maxed out from CelebrĂan's Stone, Sword that was Broken and Strider, get Elf-friend attached to him and Fair and Perilous can be used on him to great effect, particularly if he has a few DĂșnedain Marks on him and a Dagger in hand.

I like Galadriel ally, but her ability only works when played from hand, so not as useful for Sneak Attack as Elrond or Gandalf. You'll have to pay full price for her if you hope that she'll dig out the Dagger for you.

You are absolutely right. I can't believe I missed that!
