Attack on Dol Guldur Fellowship Rosenheim
Schwaig 19
Description
This fellowship is built for the 2017 fellowship event "Attack on Dol Guldur", which we have not yet played.
Edit: Last weekend we played the Fellowship event "Attack on Dol Guldur" (with some minor changes to this version) and I can only say that the performance of this fellowship was really good. We managed to achieve a relative comfortable win on the second try (the first try, another group got wrecked by a crazy unlucky chain of events from the encounter deck). We were even able to track some cards that are quite useless for Dol Guldur, so there is still potential for improvement. So, after a few games with this fellowship I find it runs pretty stable and strong.
The main idea is to defend all enemies with the following combo:
Vigilant Dúnadan + Tale of Tinúviel (played from Galadriel, Círdan the Shipwright or Glorfindel) and Arwen Undómiel. This creates a non-kneeling defender with 6/7 and Sentinel, as long as we have a side quest in the victory display. To ensure the latter, we play Thurindir and Gather Information in round 1.
Killing the enemies is to be done with a pumped up Glorfindel (2x Legacy Blade and Rivendell Bow), pumped up Argalad (2x Bow of the Galadhrim) the ability of Prince Imrahil which sometimes gives us a free trigger from Beorn for 1 ressource. The Vigilant Dúnadan can also attack once for 7/8 after defending everything.
Questing is done with most of the heroes first and some additional allies later on (mostly Rohirrim and Ents). All heroes except Argalad and the one Noldor that exhausts for Tale of Tinúviel should go on quest. Since the Vigilant Dúnadan readies from Tale of Tinúviel we will also send him on quest, which basically transfers the from the missing hero to him. Galadriel can either add her willpower with Tale of Tinúviel or Nenya to the quest, if we have those cards. This gives a base of 25/29 from round 1 on. Once we achieve Rally the West, which we should after round 2 quest, the from heroes is at around 35.
Side quests are very important in this build. Thurindir allows us to start the game with Gather Information, which should be absolved in round 1. This allows us to search for missing key cards and Rally the West, which will be played in round 2.
The main difficulty for this build is to play a Tale of Tinúviel every round. To achieve this we included some recursion in the form of Dwarven Tomb (which can also be used to recur the most powerful A Test of Will) and Map of Earnil. Another thing that needs to be addressed are nasty shadow effects. For that we include many Hasty Stroke and Sterner than Steel.
To Speed the build up process, we have Steward of Gondor, which should be attached to one of the heroes. The ressources of Denethor will (if not used for cards) be transferred to Mablung, to speed up the rather slow Ent deck. Especially in round 1 this is very important, because it should allow to play Treebeard in round 1 (Mulligan for treebeard with the Ent deck).
