Solar 25

Solar has a newer deck inspired by this one: Into the Pit - Candle in the Rohirrim (Solo)

A solo progression deck with a single core set.

Originally built with Dúnhere but due to number of treachery for the quest Eleanor was a better replacement.

Quest strategy: Avoid all enemy cards if possible with Denethor scrying most turns, unless can afford a Forest Snare or have allies with plenty of attack. Henamarth Riversong gives more flexibility for dealing with engagement using Denethor as a defender but he is only really going to handle wargs, and you still need back up. The bats and warg riders with surge are more trouble and threat than they are worth.

There is only going to be 2-4 safe turns before threat escalates to dangerous levels so aim to play any cards you can that bolster questing early on. Quest 3A is the big challenge solo as no cards can be played so if you have only a few allies at that point then say goodbye to Gollum.

Don't be afraid to lose cards to treachery as most player cards won't get played anyway. In solo you'll only have 6+ turns to survive due to generating 4 threat holding Gollum every turn. Reduce threat any way you can. Elfhelm can give you a bit more time but don't rely on his ability, a well placed Gandalf gives more reliable threat reduction for one extra resource if both are in hand. Of course The Galadhrim's Greeting remains the staple for keeping this solo venture alive. As such it is fine to take one or two treachery but avoid any that increase threat. Locations should be no problem for this deck and drawing them is the key to success.

I would probably switch out Nor am I a Stranger and Astonishing Speed in retrospect but they can have their use as this is a Rohan focused deck, and you do need some Éowyn fodder. Rumour from the Earth is a well suited replacement but can drain resources and copies Denethor ability already in game (not a bad thing but Westfold Horse-Breaker and Unexpected Courage already give some potential action advantage).

Do hold back on Miner of the Iron Hills specifically for Caught in a Web as the speed of progress and protection from Eleanor are severely hampered by this.
